About The Role
As a Quality Engineering Lead you will champion software quality across three key products (Closd, Jarvis, CaseLawAnalytics), working closely with international teams located in France and South Africa. You will lead all quality efforts, from test strategy and tooling to hands-on coaching and process improvement. You will play a pivotal role in shaping a quality-first mindset, supporting both engineers and product teams in delivering robust, testable, and resilient software.
Responsibilities
- Owning and driving the overarching quality vision and strategy for our software products.
- Defining and continuously refining the quality roadmap with short-term and long-term objectives.
- Establishing and evolving quality standards, processes, and frameworks adapted to our tech stack (PHP back end, JavaScript front end using Angular and VueJS).
- Implementing performance tests to track the continuous improvement of our products.
- Coaching software engineers on writing meaningful unit, integration, and end-to-end tests, including what makes a test valuable, when to use each type of test, and how to approach test coverage pragmatically.
- Supporting the Product team in producing well-defined, testable user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Coordinating test writing across the team and lead test campaigns before major releases, working in cooperation with the DevOps team.
- Defining and tracking key quality metrics (test coverage, test reliability, regressions, escaped defects, etc.) and reporting regularly on quality trends, risks, and opportunities to leadership and stakeholders.
Requirements
- Must have extensive experience in Quality Test Engineering.
- Have a BS in Engineering/Computer Science degree or equivalent.
- Must have proven experience in quality engineering leadership roles, especially in cross-functional or agile teams.
- Have solid experience in automated testing frameworks, including Cypress.
- Have hands-on experience with unit, integration, E2E, and exploratory testing.
- Have demonstrated ability to guide software engineers and product managers on quality best practices.
- Have excellent communication, cross-team collaboration, and change management skills.
- Be familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, test environments, release workflows, and experience with PHP, VueJS, Angular, .NET is a plus.

Purpose
Owns the planning and delivery pipeline for all platform engineering work. Provides real-time visibility, accurate timelines, and reliable execution without managing people.
Core responsibilities
- Build and maintain the master roadmap in GitHub Projects/Azure DevOps and Ignite
- Convert incoming ideas into scoped items with clear acceptance criteria and ETAs
- Keep a live dashboard that shows status, blockers, and forecast completion dates
- Run planning sessions, standups, and retros; define sprint cadence as needed
- Track and report metrics to leadership every week
- Facilitate documentation of new processes and integrations
- Organize and deliver training sessions that improve team adoption of the workflow
- Work with engineers on estimation, planning, and process discipline
- Perform weekly backlog grooming to merge duplicates, close stale items, and re-confirm priorities with stakeholders
- Monitor cross-team dependencies and coordinate when projects overlap
- Maintain a high-level understanding of all active projects so you can step in when an engineer is out
Decision making authority
- Can adjust ETAs and sequence work to hit goals
- Escalates capacity conflicts and cross team tradeoffs to Head of Technology
- Can assign owners to projects and set due dates
- Can accept and reject new ideas that come though the project pipeline
- Does not manage people. All managerial tasks and issues are managed by Head of Technology
Mentorship expectations
- Weekly calls with each engineer to review assignments and ensure tasks are on schedule
- Daily stand ups
- Coach engineers on writing thorough notes and status updates
- Reviews progress and flags issues early
- Onboard new team members
- Create and maintain training materials
Requirements:
Required Tools And Skills
- Working knowledge of GitHub, Canny and Azure DevOps
- Working knowledge of modern programming flows
- Proven ability to break down work, set deadlines, and hit them
- Strong written communication and meeting facilitation
- Comfort with EST work hours and remote collaboration
- Highly organized, reliable, calm under pressure
- Can influence without authority and drive adoption
Experience
- 2+ years coordinating and/or managing workflows, systems or projects

- Bugs closed weekly greater than bugs opened weekly
- Intake to triage within 2 days
- 1 feature request completed per every 2 weeks
- Documentation coverage for new and existing deliverables

- Clean and tag all backlog items
- Create an executive dashboard that gives a high overview of where projects stand.
- Ensure all projects, tasks and items are in Azure DevOps with due dates on each item, an owner and a full plan

About the Role
As a Quality Engineering Lead you will champion software quality across three key products (Closd, Jarvis, CaseLawAnalytics), working closely with international teams located in France and South Africa. You will lead all quality efforts, from test strategy and tooling to hands-on coaching and process improvement. You will play a pivotal role in shaping a quality-first mindset, supporting both engineers and product teams in delivering robust, testable, and resilient software.
Responsibilities
- Owning and driving the overarching quality vision and strategy for our software products.
- Defining and continuously refining the quality roadmap with short-term and long-term objectives.
- Establishing and evolving quality standards, processes, and frameworks adapted to our tech stack (PHP back end, JavaScript front end using Angular and VueJS).
- Implementing performance tests to track the continuous improvement of our products.
- Coaching software engineers on writing meaningful unit, integration, and end-to-end tests, including what makes a test valuable, when to use each type of test, and how to approach test coverage pragmatically.
- Supporting the Product team in producing well-defined, testable user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Coordinating test writing across the team and lead test campaigns before major releases, working in cooperation with the DevOps team.
- Defining and tracking key quality metrics (test coverage, test reliability, regressions, escaped defects, etc.) and reporting regularly on quality trends, risks, and opportunities to leadership and stakeholders.
Requirements
- Must have extensive experience in Quality Test Engineering.
- Have a BS in Engineering/Computer Science degree or equivalent.
- Must have proven experience in quality engineering leadership roles, especially in cross-functional or agile teams.
- Have solid experience in automated testing frameworks, including Cypress.
- Have hands-on experience with unit, integration, E2E, and exploratory testing.
- Have demonstrated ability to guide software engineers and product managers on quality best practices.
- Have excellent communication, cross-team collaboration, and change management skills.
- Be familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, test environments, release workflows, and experience with PHP, VueJS, Angular, .NET is a plus.

About the Role:
We are hiring a Software Engineering Lead to take the responsibility for the work on maintaining, modernizing and enhancing a key product, LexisNexis® Classification. This product uses AI to read millions of patents globally and pull the relevant patents into custom categories that are relevant to the specific technology areas users define.
You'll be the go-to person for a small highly skilled agile team, with ownership over the mission and your development practices and process. Your engineering team will be based mainly in South Africa but also across Europe. You will also work closely with existing application teams, as well as with a broader range of stakeholders distributed across the UK, Germany, Netherlands and the USA.
As a Software Engineering Lead, you will play a crucial role in overseeing software development mainly within LexisNexis® Classification. You will contribute directly to solving technical problems as well as guiding your team to success.
Responsibilities
+ Owning and executing backlog of product optimization and enhancements.
+ Being responsible for backend and frontend maintenance of the product and ensuring bug fixes are prioritized in a timely manner.
+ Assisting in requirements gathering, decomposition and implementation of new features, such as additional features for product integration into existing LexisNexis® Intellectual Property products.
+ Integrating performance and cost-optimization considerations into development work, throughout the entire development lifecycle.
+ Able to communicate and take ownership within the team and across team boundaries.
+ Helping to maintain AWS platform infrastructure with CDK, such as NodeJS/Python Lambdas.
+ Assisting in refactoring the existing application.
+ Writing and reviewing detailed specifications for the development of complex system components.
+ Leading in development processes, coding best practices, and code reviews.
+ Managing a team of software engineers in a Scrum based development environment while collaborating with stakeholders.
Requirements
+ Understand Software Engineering techniques and processes, particularly adapting Scrum and agile frameworks to meet business needs.
+ Experience with AWS or similar cloud providers, including knowledge on running cost effective serverless architecture.
+ Experience working with React.
+ Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills applicable to a wide audience.
+ Experience with Python, JavaScript, Go, Azure Pipelines, GraphQL (or similar API schemas) or willingness to rapidly learn.
+ Experience in leading software engineering efforts for AI-enabled SaaS products is desirable, but not essential.
