Brief description of Role: To support the Operations Executive.

The Engineering Manager shall focus on improving service quality, rationalising services, increasing efficiencies, and enhancing maintenance strategies and repairs. The role includes managing operations employees and budgets. Key Performance Areas include:

  1. Operations planning and monitoring
  2. Daily maintenance planning and monitoring
  3. Long-range maintenance and capital replacement planning
  4. Disaster recovery planning and management (as required)
  5. Plant and operation optimisation (as required)
  6. Continuous process optimisation (as required)
  7. Daily energy management and proposing energy-saving initiatives
  8. Daily evaluation of equipment status

  10. Optimising material and spare parts management
  11. Daily planning of operations and staffing based on building complexity and user demands
  12. Developing proposals for service, organisational, and process improvements
  13. Consulting with the client's FM team (as required)
  14. Ongoing quality management through internal audits and contractual compliance
  15. Documenting operational knowledge of plant and equipment
  16. Root cause analysis of failures and incidents
  17. Creating transparency of service delivery at each site
  18. Creating and documenting job specs, risk assessments, method statements, and standards
  19. Developing work plans, workflows, staffing, and schedules per ISO and OHSAS standards (as required)
  20. Ensuring statutory compliance and adherence to site procedures
  21. Managing subcontractors to ensure compliance
  22. Attending meetings (as required)
  23. Ensuring timely submission of customer-requested information
  24. Bi-monthly exposure and sign-off sessions for team members
  25. Quarterly job/PDMS evaluations for team leaders
  26. Monthly reporting within the first 2 days of each month
  27. Completing performance reviews and contracts as per Bidvest schedule
  28. Disciplinary actions for policy violations (as required)
  29. Driving maintenance engineering approaches focusing on cost reduction, efficiency, and market-leading practices
  30. Assessing and training employees to address learning gaps
  31. Self-development annually
  32. Recruiting and retaining diverse talent
  33. Embedding RITCH values within the team
  34. Planning and implementing re-commissioning initiatives

  • Good knowledge and experience record in delivering geological/geotechnical projects using applicable standards and principles.
  • Experience in the application of relevant geological and geotechnical software packages (such as gINT, Leapfrog, Rockscience software, GIS, etc).
