Role Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to a team of electrical engineers, technicians, and designers.
- Lead electrical design efforts for data centres and other critical infrastructure projects, ensuring designs meet client requirements, timelines, and budgets.
- Oversee and develop conceptual designs through to detailed construction documentation, ensuring compliance with relevant electrical standards, codes, and regulations (e.g., NEC, IEC, EN).
- Manage and resolve design issues, discrepancies, and technical challenges in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
- Review and interpret client scope of work (SOW) documents, ensuring electrical designs are aligned with client specifications, proactively identifying and raising variance orders.
- Act as the primary electrical point of contact between the project design team, clients, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Coordinate electrical design elements with other building systems (e.g., mechanical, structural, fire) for seamless integration.
- Translate complex technical electrical design details into clear, comprehensible information for clients and non-technical stakeholders.
- Identify potential design risks and develop strategies to mitigate them, ensuring quality and safety compliance throughout all stages of the project.
- Stay current with emerging electrical technologies, energy-efficient solutions, and best practices specific to data centres and mission-critical facilities.
- Support the integration of renewable energy systems, UPS, and electrical infrastructure redundancy in line with latest standards.
- Provide guidance on the application of appropriate electrical design software (e.g., Revit, ETAP), including scripting for automation (e.g., Python, Dynamo) to improve design efficiency and accuracy.
- Ensure cost-effective electrical design solutions by working closely with cost estimators, ensuring budgets are maintained without compromising quality.
- Lead and participate in design coordination meetings, ensuring electrical systems align with project goals and industry standards.
- Ensure that all electrical design documentation (drawings, calculations, specifications, etc.) are properly maintained and meet quality control standards.
- Drive continuous learning and professional development within the electrical design team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
- Contribute to the virtual construction of electrical systems in buildings, ensuring compliance with local and international standards.
- Maintain accurate project records in compliance with internal quality assurance systems.
Minimum Requirements
- Proven experience in electrical engineering with a focus on building electrical services infrastructure and respective sub-disciplines.
- BSc/MSc or B Eng/M Eng within the building services related fields
- Minimum of >10 years of relevant consulting experience in the built environment
- Experience in leading a multidisciplinary team is advantageous
- Professionally Registered (PrEng, CEng or similar)
- International project experience highly advantageous
- Strong proficiency with Office, Revit, and other related digital coordination tools
- Knowledge of various MEP simulation programs as well as proficiency in prime discipline programs (eg Dialux, EOM/Amtech/Etaps)
- Keen interest in BIM, inclusive of the metadata information associated with designs produced
- Client facing with strong presentation skills

Your Role at
The DevOps Engineer is responsible for working hands-on to provision applications on multiple cloud platforms, designing and implementing DevOps principles that use those platforms, becoming a subject matter expert in troubleshooting and resolving complex, multi-tier architecture problems, planning and executing technical tasks associated with the implementation and maintenance of virtualisation and containerised cloud infrastructure, as well as contributing to roadmap planning, coordinating and execution to drive the achievement of business objectives and KPIs.
What You'll Do:
This role requires you to be a CI/CD subject matter expert that's more on the Dev side of DevOps. You'll do the following:
- Become familiar with technologies used by the squad - GCP, AWS, Terraform, Terrakube, Jenkins, CircleCI, GitHub Actions, Gradle, Docker, GKE, ArgoCD, Argo Rollouts, SonarQube, Sonatype Nexus & Lifecycle, Prometheus, Grafana, MySQL
- Maintain & continuously improve CI/CD pipelines & staging provisioning pipelines that drive feature development
- Collaborate with a distributed team to fulfill the department's quarterly objectives
- Automate recurring manual tasks & iteratively optimize those tasks
- Perform code reviews
- Research and prototype new technologies
- Write and maintain documentation
Support software development squads in multiple timezones to:
Onboard new micro services
- Grant required permissions
- Respond to alerts & ad hoc CI/CD related issues, review error messages, and fix bugs in a timely manner to unblock feature development hindrances to meet sprint timelines
- Support software testing and quality assurance processes to ensure high-quality deliverables
What You Have:
- Excellent communication skills & high proficiency in English
- At least 4 years of experience in the tech industry
- A solid understanding of the Linux operating system
- Experience with IaC (infrastructure of code) tools to drive automation and self service, preferably Hashicorp Terraform
- Experience with coding and scripting languages like Groovy, Java, Nodejs, Python and Shell.
- The ability to identify, evaluate, and integrate diverse open-source technologies and cloud services.
- Experience with public cloud platforms, including AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google
- Experience with business tools like Atlassian Jira & Confluence
- Experience with Kubernetes, whether that's GKE, AKS, EKS, OpenShift, etc
- Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, ArgoCD, etc
- Experience with Git version control, preferable GitHub
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues across staging and production environments

Main Responsibilities:
The performance of the Associate Data Engineer can be described and measured by:
- Define a structured approach to problem solving and delivery against it.
- Create role specific design standards, patterns, and principles
- Assist the planning and management of the workload of the team and to ensure delivery
- Load large, complex data sets to and make data available for other data engineers
- Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing models for greater scalability
- Working with other data engineers and data modelers, you will design, implement, and manage data vaults, data transformations and the data pipeline
- Identify, design, and implement vault access layers to enable BI products to leverage the data within data vaults
- Monitor and fine-tune data vaults and data transformations on the Cloudera Hadoop stack
- Use modern development and modelling techniques and tools to implement BI and data management solutions, including data quality, metadata and reference data
- Engage with a wide range of technical stakeholders including data scientists, data analysts, business analysts, other data engineers and solutions architects
Support data stewards to establish and enforce guidelines for data collection, quality improvements, integration, and processes
What will make you successful in this role?
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Informatics, Information Systems, Engineering or another quantitative field / National Diploma in an Information Technology related discipline preferred
Work Experience:
- The Junior Data Engineer must have relevant experience in a similar environment working with the relevant tools and techniques
Technical Knowledge and Experience:
The Associate Data Engineer is someone with a strong understanding of data, data structures and data sources. Required skills include:
- Application and data engineering background with a solid background in SQL is required
- Knowledge of database management system (DBMS) physical implementation, including tables, joins and SQL querying.
- Data architecture design and delivery experience preferred
- Experience in Database technologies (e.g., SAP Hana, Teradata or similar) or Hadoop components including HDFS, Hive, Spark, Oozie and Impala preferred and highly advantageous.
- Object-oriented/object functional scripting languages (e.g., Python, Java, Scala or related)
- Knowledge and experience of structured data, such as entities, classes, hierarchies, relationships, and metadata.
- Strong Data Engineering background with a specific focus on staging high quality data
- Understanding of data warehousing principles (e.g., Kimball and Vault).
- Experience in agile development
- Ability to comply to and manage data assets under a strict governance framework
Desirable/ preferred skills include:
- Data warehousing (Kimball and Data Vault patterns are preferred) and dimensional data modelling (e.g., OLAP and MDX experience)
- Experience in developing data pipelines using ETL tools (e.g., SAP Data Services), automation (e.g. Wherescape), scheduling and test automation (e.g. Robot) is desirable
- A solid background in SQL, Information Architecture and ETL procedures is required
- Experience with object-oriented/functional/scripting languages (e.g., Python, Unix Shell scripting, Java, Scala etc.) is preferred but not essential.
- Data Management technologies (e.g., Informatica Data Quality (IDQ), Informatica Enterprise Data Catalog (EDC), Axon, EBX)
