Scope of work :
Carry out Loss Prevention Engineering work on the assigned project relevant to offshore wellhead / process platforms under the supervision of the Lead Process Engineer on the assigned project.
Responsibilities- Carry out Loss Prevention Engineering work on the assigned project relevant to offshore wellhead / process platforms under the supervision of the Lead Process Engineer on the assigned project.
- Ensure compliance with loss prevention philosophy / safety concepts, fire protection design basis.
- Develop hazard analysis, hazardous area classifications, and safety layouts as part of the project deliverables.
- Prepare specifications / criteria for passive fire protection (fireproofing), including schedules and layouts.
- Contribute to fire & gas design philosophy and fire and gas detection system layouts.
- Prepare layout drawings for safety equipment locations, escape routes and safety signs.
- Characterize firefighting protection systems and prepare relevant documents & layouts.
- Perform hydraulic calculations for fire water networks and spray systems.
- Prepare firefighting, safety equipment, lifesaving equipment supply specifications, material requisitions, technical bid evaluations and review vendors documentation.
- Be familiar with Oil & Gas standards and international regulations.
- Prepare fire water network P&IDs.
- Bachelor or higher degree in Chemical Engineering.
- Minimum experience of 10 years in the Oil & Gas Industry.
- At least 5 years in a Loss Prevention Engineer role.
- Familiarity with Oil & Gas standards and international regulations.
- Job Location : Doha , Qatar;
- Envisaged Starting Date : June / July 2025;
- Duration : 12 months, liable to extension according to your performance and project needs;
- Standard Working Schedule : 9 hours a day / 5 days a week;

You will be the single point of accountability, responsible for delivering projects from feasibility through to execution, start-up, and close-out, ensuring strict adherence to safety, quality, cost, and schedule objectives within a complex refinery environment.
Requirements- BSc/ BEng/BTech in Engineering is essential. A post-graduate qualification (e.g., Masters in Project Management) is highly advantageous
- Minimum of 12 years of proven experience managing multi-disciplinary capital projects within a refinery, petrochemical, or heavy industrial environment
- Must be thoroughly versed in project management frameworks: BD&I , PMBOK , and NEC3 contracts. Experience with SAP is beneficial
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and negotiation skills. A demonstrated ability to manage complex contracts, control large budgets (>R100m), and deliver projects safely on time and within budget
