Key Responsibilities
1. Technical Support in Project Development
• Provide technical insights and input during the development stages of solar installation projects.
• Assist with accurate quoting based on site specifications, product selection, and technical requirements.
2. Project Preparation
• Ensure all necessary stock, equipment, and materials are prepared before the project starts.
• Oversee procurement processes and maintain accurate stock records for all ongoing projects.
• Liaise with the warehouse and logistics team to ensure timely delivery of materials to sites.
3. Project Management
• Manage the installation process for residential, commercial, and agricultural projects, ensuring timely and budget-friendly completion.
• Coordinate with clients and subcontractors to ensure all project specifications are met.
• Monitor project progress and report to senior management regularly.
4. Health and Safety Compliance
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations on-site, including overseeing the use of PPE and adherence to safety protocols.
• Collaborate with the Health and Safety Officer to keep site safety files updated and ensure safety measures are followed.
5. Quality Control
• Implement quality control measures across all projects, ensuring installations are conducted to the highest standards.
• Conduct post-installation inspections and address any workmanship issues or defects.
6. Client Communication and Satisfaction
• Act as the main point of contact for clients during installation projects, providing updates and addressing concerns.
• Resolve client escalations or complaints related to project execution promptly.
7. Budget and Cost Management
• Manage project budgets, track expenses, and report on financial performance.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining high standards of installation quality.
8. Technical Support Oversight
• Oversee the technical support team responsible for handling client callouts, service calls, and troubleshooting.
• Ensure that the team responds to technical issues in a timely manner, prioritising urgent matters and minimising downtime.
• Monitor team performance, including adherence to response time targets and the resolution of technical issues.
• Address escalated support tickets and ensure prompt, satisfactory resolution of client issues.
9. Employee Management
• Oversee both internal and external installation teams, ensuring quality workmanship and efficient operations.
• Manage and evaluate the performance of team leaders and subcontractors, providing feedback and implementing improvements where necessary.
• Oversee and manage the daily operations of the team, including timekeeping, attendance, and work allocation.
• Conduct employee performance reviews, providing constructive feedback and guidance for professional development.
• Approve overtime requests and manage overtime allocation based on project demands and budget constraints.
• Approve leave requests, ensuring team coverage and project continuity.
• Handle any employee disputes, grievances, or disciplinary actions in consultation with the Human Resources department.
10. Training and Development
• Develop and implement training programs for installation teams to promote ongoing skills development and industry standards adherence.
• Stay updated on the latest solar technologies and trends, ensuring that the team is informed and trained accordingly.
Qualifications
• Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in operations management, preferably in solar, renewable energy, or electrical contracting industries.
• Proven track record of managing installation projects (residential, commercial, and agricultural).
Technical Skills
• Strong understanding of solar PV systems and electrical installations.
• Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet, or similar).
• Familiarity with inventory management systems and supply chain processes.
Management Skills
• Experience in leading teams and managing personnel.

Responsibilities and Requirements
· Develop periodically the operational objectives and key performance indicators for asset utilisation and capacity maximization for each equipment and/or process within the department.Applies scientific and engineering knowledge in support of Production, Maintenance and Equipment reliability with emphasis on process reliability and predictability.

Your job will be versatile and dynamic: one day you will be with your boots on, inspecting a construction site when the other day you will be behind your PC screen analysing the expected yield or fine-tuning a PV design.
In this role, you will be delighting our clients (developers, IPPs, banks, investors etc.) with your projects under construction follow reporting, design and technology review, energy yield estimations for utility scale solar PV or wind projects while gradually getting trained in performing feasibility studies, either from the office or during site inspections.
Your main tasks will be:
- You will perform technical feasibility studies.
- You will manage the project and oversee its progress from start to finish.
- You will manage the project under construction and provide follow-up reporting.
- You will review contracts and overall project design, technology, and suggest potential improvements.
- You will perform the energy yield calculations using industry-recognised software tools and internal tools and processes.
- You will report to clients and lenders.
- You will perform site inspections before, during and after construction of the projects.
- You will interact directly with customers, written as well as verbally.
You will work within the core of our consultancy team which will give you all at hand to quickly explore the wonderful solar PV/BESS and/or wind energy world.
