The Associate Sales Compensation Specialist is an entry level subject matter expert, accountable for providing support on sales compensation and territory and quota planning policy, process, tools, systems and reporting.
The Associate Sales Compensation Specialist is responsible for participating in and supporting sales compensation and quota planning and management (sales performance) projects and initiatives, reporting and administrative activities.
This role operates in a multi-faceted environment, encompassing various regional and global units, and global practices, and involves collaborating with cross-functional teams.
The Associate Sales Compensation Specialist contributes to the implementation of business activities and processes that help the sales organization run effectively and efficiently in support of business strategies and objectives.
What you'll be doing
Key Responsibilities :
- Sales compensation Play a supporting role in the cyclical sales compensation plan(s) design process and performs project administrative activities.Create a detailed process to record all Executive decisions made and approvals obtained during the sales compensation design process for auditing purposes. Maintain accurate records of all sales compensation plan(s) documentation i.e. manage and maintain the global sales compensation plan(s) library to ensure it contains the most up-to-date plans, enablement materials and approved exception forms and update the exception form tracker.Develop the knowledge and skill to build sales compensation calculators in Excel used by our salesforce (quota-bearing employees) to calculate estimated earnings and used to create illustrative earning examples inserted in the sales compensation plan documents.Develop the knowledge and skill to perform sales compensation cost modelling.Maintain accurate SAP ICM license records (or any other system of record) from a business perspective to ensure alignment with IT.
- Quota planning and management Perform administrative activities related to quota planning and management reporting including, but not limited to, following up with the Units and Practices on the issue (allocation / communication) of sales quotas to quota-bearing employees and requesting detailed records as required.Maintain accurate records of all quota templates and planning documentation i.e. manage and maintain the global territory and quota planning (s) library to ensure it contains the most up-to-date information and enablement materials.Ensure the latest version of the Territory and Quota Playbook or any related documentation are updated on all relevant SharePoint sites.
- Sales compensation and quota reports and analytics Gather data for sales compensation and quota planning reporting.Perform administrative activities and support the preparation of monthly and quarterly reports related to sales compensation and quota planning.Under the guidance and direction of the Senior Director : Sales Compensation and Quota Planning, create reports that provides actionable insights and a view of performance against agreed metrics.
- Continuous improvement Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance efficiencies in current processes and ways of work.
- Ad-hoc Provide support for ad-hoc business requirements.Provide ad-hoc and regular reporting and analysis for consumption by the Senior Director : Sales Compensation and Quota Planning.
- Best practice, compliance and staying abreast of company changes Develop knowledge of industry and internal trends and best practices in sales compensation and quota planning and management.Manage sensitive and confidential information, ensuring it is handled securely and in compliance with the organization's policies and procedures.Stay abreast of company changes to ensure reports and analytics accurately reflect the changes.
- Ad-hoc Provide support for ad-hoc business requirements.Provide ad-hoc and regular reporting and analysis for consumption by the Senior Director : Sales Compensation and Quota Planning.

Develop knowledge of industry and internal trends and best practices in sales compensation and quota planning and management.Manage sensitive and confidential information, ensuring it is handled securely and in compliance with the organization's policies and procedures.Stay abreast of company changes to ensure reports and analytics accurately reflect the changes.

- Academic Qualifications and Certifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
Required Experience
- 3+ years working experience, ideally in a project support role.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Excel including Excel functions, calculations, creation of tables and charts, and formatting.
- Experience in sales compensation and sales performance management an advantage.
- Demonstrated experience in taking initiative and delivering on assigned key performance indicators.
- Proficiency in Word and PowerPoint.
- Exceptional work ethic.

- Initial 6 months full time in the office, with a view to agree a hybrid model that allows for continued high performance.

- Strong working knowledge of payroll systems, HRIS, and HR analytics.
- Demonstrated experience engaging with Bargaining Councils, interpreting collective agreements, and managing C&B implications.
- Familiarity with South African labour law, tax, and governance requirements.

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Functional Consultant – SAP SuccessFactors Compensation to lead the implementation and optimization of global and local compensation processes within the SAP SuccessFactors suite. As part of a broader HR transformation program, the role will ensure compensation system design aligns with business strategy, HR policies, and operational requirements, while providing hands-on configuration expertise and functional leadership across all project phase
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, configuration, and implementation of SAP SuccessFactors Compensation module.
- Deliver end-to-end consulting across core compensation functions, including:
- Compensation Planning
- Bonus and Incentive Plans
- Eligibility Rules
- Compensation Guidelines and Cycles
- Collaborate with HR, IT, and business stakeholders to align system design with compensation policies and global HR strategies.
- Configure compensation templates, business rules, budgets, and workflow approvals.
- Integrate Compensation with SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central and relevant downstream HR systems.
- Produce high-quality functional documentation, including business requirement documents, configuration specs, and test scripts.
- Support unit testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), and training delivery to end users and HR teams.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of SAP SuccessFactors Compensation through regular Delta certifications and product updates.
- Advise on best practices for compensation planning in multi-country and compliance-driven environments.
- Provide input and solution design recommendations related to Variable Pay, where applicable.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as a SAP SuccessFactors Compensation Functional Consultant.
- Successfully delivered at least 4 full-cycle SAP SuccessFactors Compensation implementations.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience with:
- Compensation Planning and Bonus Structures
- Eligibility Rules and Budget Guidelines
- Templates, business rules, and workflows
- Strong understanding of compensation cycle management and HR business alignment.
- Ability to gather and translate business requirements into scalable configuration solutions.
- Skilled in functional documentation, test support, and user training.
- SAP Certified Application Associate – SAP SuccessFactors Compensation
- Must also hold the latest Delta Certification to reflect knowledge of current releases and features.
- Exposure to Variable Pay configuration and process integration.
- Experience working in global enterprise environments with diverse regulatory and compensation frameworks.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage across business and technical teams.
- Familiarity with Agile delivery models and collaboration tools such as JIRA or Confluence.

- B.Com in Accounting or equivalent Degree with a specialisation in Payroll Management.
- Post Graduate qualification, an added advantage.
- Minimum 10 years experience in compensation and benefits management and/or payroll management.
- Minimum 3 years as a Payroll or Remuneration or Compensation & Benefits Manager.
- Information Management System i.e. SAP HR Module / Oracle. Advanced Excel.
- Membership of a professional body focused on compensation and benefits an advantage.
Report to the HR Operations Executive:
- Develop and implement compensation strategies and structures.
- Develop and/or review and implement compensation and benefits policies.
- Conduct regular surveys and market research to ensure competitive compensation practices.
- Analyse compensation data and trends to make informed decisions on salary adjustments, bonuses, and/or incentives.
- Collaborate with HR and Management to develop job descriptions and perform job evaluations.
- Provide guidance and support to HR and Management on compensation and benefits-related matters.
- Prepare and present reports on compensation and benefits metrics as well as other relevant HR Analytics, when required, to Senior Management.
- Prepare relevant compensation and benefits reports for Executive Management, Board Committees and the Board of Directors.
- Collaborate with the HR Executive to prepare written submissions for the approval of the Executive Committee and or the Board Committees.
- Roll out benefits initiatives across the company and provide education and training on various types of benefits to Managers and employees.
- Manage all Payroll activities, establishing appropriate checks and balances to ensure on-time payment, compliance, and accuracy.
- Ensure smooth running of the administration of benefits.
- Manage payroll processes, salary reviews and incentive schemes.Â
- Responsible for the integrity of data on the HR Management Information system.
- Ensure consistency in the application of Human Resource policies, benefits and guidelines.
- Manage the preparation of the Groupâ nnual workforce and salary budget including the evaluation of the need for new positions and the total remuneration cost and submission thereof.
- Provide support for the review of personnel request to ensure that additional staff or change requests are justified in accordance with budgets, structure and business principles in compliance with organisation design principles.
- Manage and oversee administration of the groupâ leave management, time and attendance processes, and retirement benefits.
- Execute reconciliations to provident/retirement fund, submit UIF returns, administer all tax affairs related to payroll, prepare bi-annual PAYE returns and prepare and reconcile 3rd party payments.
- Liaise with IT on SAP notes and upgrades related to payroll.
- Assist Auditors with internal, external, and SHEQ audits.
- Ensure good governance and audit protocols are followed by ensuring appropriate controls are in place, processes and procedures are documented and reviewed regularly; and that the highest standards of accuracy and rigour are maintained.

The Global Compensation Lead will lead the development and execution of our global total rewards programs and processes. As a key member of our Global Compensation team, you will partner closely with business/regional and country-level Total Rewards professionals and People & Culture business partners to deliver compensation programs that are not only effective and compliant, but also designed to attract, retain, and motivate top talent-all while operating within our global framework and guiding principles.
You will also be responsible for tracking and managing the total cost of compensation programs globally, ensuring the financial sustainability of our reward strategies. **What you'll be doing**
**Key Responsibilities:**
-Lead the planning and execution of global compensation processes, including annual salary planning, incentive planning, LTIP Planning benchmarking, pay governance, job architecture, and global pay programs.
-Ensure compensation solutions are scalable across regions, aligned with global strategies, and adaptable to local legal and regulatory requirements.
-Partner with regional and country Total Rewards leaders with their People & Culture business partners to co-create compensation solutions that balance global consistency with local relevance and business needs.
-Actively track and manage compensation-related costs globally, ensuring programs are cost-effective and aligned with budget expectations.
-Develop scalable, globally aligned compensation strategies that support the business in attracting, retaining, and motivating talent, while adhering to our compensation guiding principles.
-Identify and drive process improvement opportunities to simplify compensation practices and enhance the manager and employee experience.
-Support enterprise-wide transformation by ensuring consistent compensation frameworks post-M&A, helping unify legacy organizations under a common structure.
-Develop and maintain clear, user-friendly communications, training materials, and documentation to support effective program understanding and adoption.
-Monitor global market trends, pay equity practices, and regulatory changes to inform program design and enhancements.
-Craft market intelligence and insights that equip the Total Rewards Partners and People & Culture Business Partners with global as well as local trends and competitor practices
-Collaborate with HRIS, Finance, and other partners to ensure systems and processes enable accurate, timely, and efficient program delivery.
-Champion operational excellence, data integrity, and governance across all compensation activities globally.
**QUALIFICATIONS**
-7+ years of experience in global compensation, including managing and executing compensation programs in complex, international environments.
-Demonstrated expertise in tracking and managing compensation program costs and aligning rewards strategy with financial goals.
-Strong knowledge of global compensation practices, compliance requirements, and evolving market trends.
-Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives with operational rigor and strong stakeholder collaboration.
-Strategic mindset with a hands-on, solution-oriented approach.
-Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex data and concepts into actionable insights for business leaders.
-Proficiency with compensation tools and platforms (e.g. HRIS).
-Experience in post-merger integration or transformation environments is a strong advantage.
