  • Support internal quality assurance processes, ensuring all design activities meet Construct's high standards

Requirements

You have:

  • 5+ years of experience in online or blended learning design or a similar role
  • Strong consultancy and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Proficiency in designing and developing courses for multiple LMSs (e.g., EdX, Canvas, Bridge, etc.)
  • Proven ability to self-motivate, work autonomously, and demonstrate leadership within a multidisciplinary team
  • Deep knowledge of best practices for online and blended learning design
  • Ability to coach peers and external stakeholders on best practices
  • A demonstrable interest in and understanding of agile learning and development (L&D) design and technology-enhanced learning
  • Excellent attention to detail and a solutions-oriented approach to learning design challenges

  • In this role, you will perform a variety of operational tasks to support learning programs. Regional Responsibilities

  • You will lead the Associate Partner cohort for the region. This includes developing learning priorities and plans for Associate Partner-level colleagues, defining learning objectives and needs, creating the learning calendar, and identifying appropriate delivery channels, e.g., Learning Days, Eastern Europe, Middle East, and Africa sessions, etc. You will collaborate with the central Associate Partner learning team to ensure that programs leverage the latest knowledge and align with the firm’s approaches and materials. Additionally, you will work closely with local office stakeholders to ensure that all programs are relevant and tailored to the local context and priorities.
  • In this capacity, you will also serve as the strategic lead for the upper-tenure cohort. This involves reviewing the overall strategy and journey for Team Leader transitions to Associate Partner, and working closely with the TL cohort lead to integrate learning journeys, experiences, and communications. Furthermore, you will support the EEMA Learning Manager in executing the EEMA Regional Learning strategy and contribute to regional learning projects, such as program improvements, content updates, and cross-functional initiatives with the firm’s Learning team.
  • You will support the Learning Manager in designing and rolling out Personal Development Journeys for the Africa Office, specifically for the Engagement Manager and Partner cohorts, in collaboration with external coaches. You will take the lead on all aspects of program delivery. Additionally, you will support the office and its locations with local learning programming by acting as a thought partner on program design and impact. You will enable local teams to deliver their agendas by sharing best practices, processes, and materials, while collaborating to ensure alignment with regional and firm-wide learning agendas. This approach will help optimize shared resources and ensure a complementary learning strategy.
  • As a Learning Specialist, you will support in the execution and rollout of the Regional Learning strategy within EEMA, Eastern Europe, Middle East & Africa, with a special focus on Africa. This is a full-time position in Learning.
  • You will work closely with the Regional Heads of Learning, the local office Director of People, EEMA Consulting teams, and other people stakeholders in your local office location and across the region.
  • You will report to the Senior Manager of EEMA Learning function.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design engaging and effective online learning experiences, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure content meets educational standards.
  • Develop course architecture, learning strategies, and assessments aligned with the specific needs of students.
  • Write, review, and revise educational materials, ensuring clarity, engagement, and accessibility for students.
  • Work with media teams to create and refine multimedia elements, ensuring these components complement the course design.
  • Conduct research on pedagogy, instructional design, and subject matter to inform course development.
  • Provide feedback on how written course content can enhance and supplement multimedia elements.
  • Collaborate on strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing operational efficiency, learning design quality, and product innovation within the team.
  • Support continuous improvement of design and writing processes, contributing to team development and innovation.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Instructional Design, or related fields (such as English, Media Studies, or Creative Writing); a postgraduate qualification is preferred.
  • 2-5 years of experience in instructional design, content development, or course writing.
  • Demonstrated expertise in online course design and development, with a strong understanding of pedagogical principles.
  • Experience in creating and revising educational materials across various subject areas, with a focus on making content accessible to diverse learners.
  • Strong writing, editing, and communication skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • High level of digital literacy and competency in researching and organizing information.
  • Experience with instructional media design and creative production is a plus.

SACAP (The South African College of Applied Psychology) is the leading independent provider of accredited Psychology, Counselling, Human Resource Management, Business Management and Social Work qualifications, with all courses grounded in psychology. We have campuses in Cape Town, Durban, Johannesburg, Pretoria and Online. SACAP is seeking a Learning Technologist based at our Head Office. This is a permanent position. The Learning Technologist will support online and blended learning programmes through the implementation of learning technologies. The Learning Technologist is responsible for owning the implementation and management of all learning technology systems and tools in order to achieve efficient and high-quality user experiences. The Learning Technologist is responsible for working closely with the Learning Design team, the Academic Team and Student Administration to ensure that learning technologies support SACAP’s Teaching and Learning Strategy through appropriate onboarding, support, and training. Responsibilities:

  • Uploading and maintaining module content, such as PDFs and video files and images on the LMS
  • Formatting, styling and applying the correct settings to module templates on the LMS
  • Implementing changes to content during the live presentation of modules
  • Supporting the technical implementation of any third-party technologies such as LTI, AI and GenAi solutions
  • Training internal stakeholders and educators in the use of learning technologies
  • Analyzing and identifying ways to improve business and academic processes in relation to learning technologies
  • Review user experience design principles in the assessment and implementation of the online modules and the learning management system
  • Serve as product owner for all SACAP learning technologies, including managing accounts with third-party stakeholders.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE :
  • Bachelor's degree in education technology, Instructional Design, Computer Science or related fields.
  • Minimum 4years' experience in a learning technologist or similar role
