Our client is a multi-vendor, value-added solutions provider with branches in Johannesburg, Durban and Cape Town offering Managed IT Services. They are looking for an experienced E-Commerce Manager.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The E-Commerce Manager oversees the operations, strategy, and performance of an online retail platform. They are responsible for driving sales, optimizing the customer experience, managing digital marketing efforts, and ensuring the e-commerce site runs efficiently. This role combines strategic planning, digital marketing, data analysis, and operational management to achieve business goals and enhance the online shopping experience.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Platform Management: Oversee the e-commerce website, ensuring it is user-friendly, visually appealing, and functional. Manage product listings, pricing, and inventory updates.
  • Sales and Revenue Growth: Develop and implement strategies to increase online sales, including promotions, discounts, and upselling techniques. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as conversion rates, average order value, and cart abandonment rates.
  • Digital Marketing: Plan and execute online marketing campaigns, including SEO, PPC advertising, email marketing, and social media strategies to drive traffic and engagement.
  • Customer Experience: Enhance the online shopping experience by optimizing website navigation, checkout processes, and customer support channels. Ensure mobile responsiveness and fast load times.
  • Analytics and Reporting: Analyze website performance, customer behavior, and sales data using tools like Google Analytics or similar platforms. Provide actionable insights and regular reports to stakeholders.
  • Inventory and Vendor Coordination: Collaborate with suppliers, logistics teams, and inventory managers to ensure product availability, timely shipping, and efficient order fulfillment.
  • Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of digital marketers, web developers, and customer service staff. Delegate tasks and ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Technology and Innovation: Stay updated on e-commerce trends, tools, and technologies. Implement new features like AI-driven recommendations, chatbots, or personalized shopping experiences.
  • Budget Management: Oversee the e-commerce budget, allocating resources for marketing, technology, and operations while ensuring cost efficiency.
  • Compliance and Security: Ensure the website complies with legal regulations and maintains robust security measures to protect customer data.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Grade 12
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (MBA preferred)

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • 3 – 5 Years of experience in E-Commerce, Digital Marketing, or Online Retail Management.
  • Proficiency in e-commerce platforms (e.g., Shopify, Magento, WooCommerce).
  • Strong knowledge of SEO, SEM, and digital marketing tools (e.g., Google Ads, Meta Ads).
  • Analytical skills with experience in data analysis tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Tableau).
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Familiarity with web development, UX/UI principles, and payment gateway systems.

Role Overview

As an eCommerce Growth Manager, you’ll take a hands-on approach to driving growth for eCommerce brands. You'll own the end-to-end process of various channels, such as product content management, paid acquisition strategies, SEO, CRO, and more. You'll also be responsible for coordinating cross-channel campaigns that foster business growth while leveraging AI-powered tools for content and SEO optimization. Key Responsibilities

  • eCommerce Operations & Marketplace Growth

    • Research and explore marketplace expansion opportunities to drive sales growth.
  • Acquisition Strategy & Execution
    • Collaborate with internal teams to develop and execute paid acquisition strategies across platforms such as Meta, Google, and TikTok.
    • Understand how creative, offers, and landing pages impact paid media performance, providing valuable input for optimization.
    • Assist in the setup and management of affiliate, influencer, and referral programs to maximize customer acquisition efforts.
    • Work on cross-channel campaigns to support client growth and drive revenue.
  • AI-Powered SEO & Content Operations
    • Leverage AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude) to generate, edit, and publish high-quality blog and product detail page content.
    • Conduct keyword research and optimize website pages for organic search growth and visibility.
    • Develop and implement SEO and content strategies that align with the client’s business goals and KPIs.
  • CRO Awareness & Support
    • Apply Conversion Rate Optimization best practices across PDPs, landing pages, and post-purchase flows to maximize conversions.
    • Collaborate with the CRO team to ensure alignment between conversion goals and ongoing optimization efforts.
    • Support A/B testing initiatives and execution using tools like Rebuy, OCU, and PageFly.
  • Analytics, Reporting, and Insights
    • Analyze performance data using tools like Google Analytics, Shopify, Meta Ads Manager, and post-purchase surveys.
    • Identify areas of improvement and growth opportunities across all client campaigns.
    • Track and report client performance regularly, providing actionable insights for improvement.
  • AI & Automation Integration
    • Use AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude) to automate tasks such as content creation, planning, and workflow optimization.

Qualifications

    • 3–5+ years of experience in eCommerce, digital marketing, or growth roles, preferably in DTC.

    • Proficient in digital marketing channels including paid acquisition, affiliate marketing, SEO, and CRO.

  • Technical Proficiency

This position reports to the Head of Retail for Mr D.

Purpose of Role

To own merchandising efforts across the Mr D On-Demand vertical and ensure that we deliver on our commercial objectives. Drive engagement and conversion from customer traffic to app. Ensuring order mix and commercial goals are achieved by reviewing and carefully curating hyperlocal merchandising strategies.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Own merchandising and promotional strategy across the Mr D On-Demand vertical
  • Drive merchandising with a focus on maximising partner discoverability and conversion
  • Create and execute on a Merchandising Calendar attributing measures of success for all campaigns
  • Maximise the usage of the Mr D app merchandising inventory and report back on successes and learnings
  • Run cross departmental sessions that focus on best practice partner curation
  • Understand and report on the commercial impact of merchandising initiatives
  • Manage merchandising team, planning sessions and calendars
  • Work closely with the advertising teams to ensure execution of booked campaigns
  • Continuously refine Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to enhance team productivity, eliminate redundancies, and create streamlined, scalable merchandising processes
  • Assist and partner with the product team to identify and enhance merchandising features and optimize existing systems to improve operational efficiency and enhance the customer shopping experience
  • Collaborate with the BI team to develop new merchandising metrics and improve data accessibility to enable evidence-based decisions for merchandising initiatives and inventory optimization

E-commerce Project Manager will lead and optimize the end-to-end process of launching products across multiple e-commerce platforms. In this role, you will take full ownership of the product launch pipeline ensuring timely, cost-effective, and high-quality launches.

Youll drive process improvements, manage cross-functional collaboration, and implement SOP enhancements that streamline operations and boost launch success. Working closely with internal stakeholders including account managers, QA, and procurement teams, youll serve as the central point of coordination to remove blockers, manage timelines, and ensure all aspects of the launch are aligned with business goals and resource constraints. This role is critical to maximizing launch output while maintaining operational efficiency and excellence.

Responsibilities

Product Launch Management -

Take full ownership and initiative over the entire product launch process across various brands and platforms.

Follow established SOPs to launch products efficiently, while continuously identifying and implementing improvements to speed up and enhance quality.

Track product launches from start to finish, proactively troubleshooting delays and providing feedback to move things forward.

Ensure that new product launch objectives are met, including achieving quotas, maintaining a healthy launch pipeline, and managing launch timing to maximize output without exceeding resources.

Evaluate launch budgets to ensure efficient use of resourcesidentify cost-heavy products and explore options to reduce financial impact.

Set benchmarks for each stage of the launch process and intervene when progress stalls, including direct communication with manufacturers and stakeholders.

Cross-Functional Collaboration -

Collaborate with internal teams such as Account Management, QA, Marketing, and Procurement to ensure alignment across all stages of the launch process. -

Serve as the central point of contact for resolving blockers, ensuring no aspect of the product launch is delayed due to miscommunication or oversight.

Product Briefs & RFO Process -

Continuously evaluate and improve Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to product launches, streamlining workflows for speed, accuracy, and success. -

Create and maintain clear documentation of launch processes, incorporating learnings from consultants and previous launches.

Ensure all team members follow optimized SOPs and contribute to refining the process further.

Requirements

Ecommerce platform product launch experience (experience with Amazon, Walmart, Ebay, Shopify or iHerb is preferable and advantageous).

Project Management experience.

Proficient in both G suite and Microsoft Office.

Project Management Qualification (Diploma/Certificate).

Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple moving parts in a fast-paced environment.

Excellent communication skills.

Proficiency in English with excellent writing, communication and collaboration skills, capable of working with cross-functional teams.

Market related salary

Working hours 10H00 - 19H00 Monday - Friday

Our team of experts is looking for a passionate and driven E-Commerce Assistant to join the Absolute Pets team at the Support Office in Marconi Beam, Cape Town.

The E-commerce Assistant will be responsible for assisting and following up with all online customer queries. The individual will work with the rest of the E-commerce team to ensure that all customer queries, on demand orders and click and collects are seen to within the targeted time. The position is based at our Support Office in Cape Town.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Communicate with customers in a friendly and professional manner and resolve any queries in an efficient manner.
  • Ensure all GoFetch orders are picked, dispatched and received on time.
  • Conduct follow-ups with PICUP when orders are running late.
  • Effective Management of the Online and GoFetch email inbox by ensuring all mails have been responded to – no emails in the inbox that are older than 24 hours.
  • Ensure all stores have the relevant knowledge and materials related to GoFetch.
  • Ensure that effective communication and customer service is conducted when there are orders that are late (as per the expected delivery date) or short delivered – both online and GoFetch.
  • Communicate when order will be sent out short and obtains the customers’ approval.
  • Process all IBTs on an immediate basis (where applicable).
  • Assist in conducting weekly/monthly cycle counts to ensure effective stock management.
  • Effective stock management by ensuring there are limited damages and write-offs within the monthly budget or less than R1000.00 per month.
  • Ensure damages and write-offs are processed before the 25th of every month.
  • Processing of all GRVs and invoicing on an immediate basis.
  • Assist when orders need to be booked with the courier service.
  • Assist with picking and packing when needed.
  • Conduct effective end-of-day housekeeping.
  • Ensure no GoFetch orders are missed.
  • Ensure the team are adding notes to the orders on Cloudbase.
  • Ensure no orders are sent with the courier services as Express, Overnight or Sameday without the approval of your manager.
  • Limit PICUP usage for online orders.
  • Use PICUP only when authorized.

Working hours will be Monday to Sunday, 08:00-20:00 shift work, but may require additional hours should the business require it.

Part of the E-commerce assistant duties will be to be available during a busy sales period e.g. Black Friday.

Skills and Specifications:

• The E-Commerce assistant ought to possess good written and verbal skills in English should be an outstanding communicator.

• Should be very focused and hardworking

• Needs to be able to carry, pack and move heavy items

• Detailed oriented.

• Organizational and planning skills.

Education and Qualifications:

An ideal candidate should have Matric, with retail and customer service experience. Product knowledge of all that Absolute Pets sells to the public. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. Candidates with a Driver’s License will have an edge over the others but it is not the deciding factor. Knowledge of IQ.
