RESPONSIBILITIES - Driver

- Maintain and possess a safe driving record.
- Strong communication skills (read, write).
- Ability to operate lifting equipment (Forklift, Turret Truck, Pallet).

The Warehouse Assistant plays a pivotal role in the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the warehouse operations. The primary purpose of this role is to ensure the seamless flow of goods within the warehouse, from their arrival to their dispatch, while maintaining accuracy, organization, and safety.
Receiving
Role Requirements
- Identify from where the shipment is coming (Branch, customer or supplier), what type of stock order is being received (Customer Return, Inter Company Transfer Order, Local Order or International Order) and what the destination of the stock is intended for (Richmond Park or another branch/location).
- Receipted stock, needs to be placed physically in the storage location for the specific warehouse
- Report any damaged-, short supplied- and over supplied stock (Discrepancies) to direct supervisor and Procurement (if from supplier). This should also be captured on the respective reports.
- Discrepancies should be listed on the specific documentations as and when it was noted. Necessary checks and confirmations should be done to ensure accurate reporting. The discrepancy paperwork should be handed over to the Receiving Supervisor at the end of each day for submission. Discrepancies should be followed up with the procurement team or sending branch as to be resolved/cleared within 5 days after submission. After feedback is received, necessary steps should be taken as to ensure stock accuracy is being maintained.
Storage
- Receipted stock needs to be placed physically in the storage location for the specific warehouse
- Items to be packaged in a manner to reduce damages during storage and transport. This should be in support of the company policies and promote good H&S practices.
- Ensure the secure loading and unloading of products to prevent damage during loading, transportation, and off-loading.
Order Fulfilment
- All damaged stock needs to be removed from the shelf and involve stock control to take the correct steps as put out in the SOP.
- Identify where the shipment is going to (Branch, customer or supplier), what type of stock order is being sent (Customer order or replacement, Inter Company Transfer Order, Local Order or International Order) and what the destination of the stock is intended for (Department in Richmond Park or another branch/location/).
- Plan daily activities as to uphold delivery commitments, necessitating regular collaboration with supporting teams and departments.
Packaging
- Items to be packaged in a manner to reduce damages during storage and transport. It should also be presentable as not to tarnish the company's image.
- All lose items that does not have a label, should be labelled as per SOP.
Dispatch
- Ensure that all deliveries are co-ordinated in such a manner to support the company's objectives.
- Transportation quotes should be managed in a manner to ensure that timeous deliveries are made within company planned budget.
- All POD's of the previous day to be scanned on system before COB.
- Scrutinise each delivery as to ensure that the delivery address and contact person/number is correct. Should anything be wrong, report it to the originating salesperson as to correct before attempting delivery.
- Liaise with dispatch controller before delivery takes place as to ensure the right equipment is present as to conform to delivery expectation.
Documentation
- When processing instruction, make sure to note the quantity and quality of the units being picked, should there be any discrepancies present, ask for assistance from the stock controller and advise your supervisor. This needs to be signed off by supervisor.
- All documentation to be stored as per company SOP.
- All documentation should always have two signatures on. One signature of the person handing over the stock and one signature of the person receiving the stock.
Health & Safety
- Review, implement, and enforce health and safety policies and procedures for warehouse and transportation activities as per company policy.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
- Arrange training for warehouse and transportation staff on safety protocols and best practices. This includes valid forklift/reach truck licenses, drivers' licences, first aider certifications, etc.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure roadworthiness.
- Safely operate company vehicles in compliance with traffic laws and regulations.
Computer Literacy/Systems
Intermediate proficiency in Windows and the MS Office suite.

A private family based in Cape Town is seeking a reliable, hands-on, and proactive individual to assist with household driving, vehicle and house maintenance, garden upkeep, and general household support / secondary office support, including shopping, pickups, and drop offs. This is a live-out position suited to someone who is flexible, trustworthy, and takes initiative.
Key Responsibilities:
Household Driver Duties:
Drive family members, pets, and other staff for errands, appointments, shopping, and school runs as needed.
- Must hold a valid South African driver's license with a clean driving record.
Flexibility to work on Saturdays and Sundays on an ad hoc basis is essential.
Vehicle Maintenance and Administration:
Take responsibility for all household vehicles, including but not limited to:
- Scheduling and transporting vehicles for regular service and repairs.
- Monitoring general vehicle condition (tyres, batteries, oil, etc.).
- Renewing vehicle licenses and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
Bi-weekly washing of all vehicles
Gardening and Pool Duties:
Perform basic gardening and pool cleaning-related tasks, including lawn care, trimming, watering, weeding, and seasonal upkeep.
General knowledge of gardening tools and maintenance practices.
Pet Care:
Comfortable and confident with large dogs.
- Daily dog walking and basic pet supervision as required.
Take pets to pet school, veterinarian, and look after pets when the family is away, etc.
General Household Support:
Undertake chores around the property / secondary property, such as:
- Liaise with contractors
- Cleaning windows
- Washing windows - exterior
- Assisting with overflow of general household cleaning when needed.
- Maintain property systems such as pool automation, air con, etc., and liaise with contractors where needed.
- Other ad hoc tasks to support the smooth running of the household.
Candidate Requirements:
• Must speak conversational English.
• Valid SA driver's license (Code B or above) and good knowledge of Cape Town routes.
• Previous experience in a similar role (gardener, household assistant, driver, etc.).
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Physically fit and able to carry out manual tasks.
• Comfortable working around animals, particularly dogs.
• Discreet, respectful, and able to maintain family confidentiality.
• Wear a supplied uniform daily
Working Hours:
Monday to Friday, with flexibility for weekend work against overtime payment on an ad hoc basis.
Remuneration:
Competitive salary based on experience, with overtime/weekend rates where applicable.

Responsibilities
- Effective and efficient relationships of both internal and external customers in order to improve operational requirements.
- Vehicle inspection check list must be done on a daily basis.
- Ensure that the vehicle is loaded as per the delivery log sheet and company procedures.
- Use the shortest and most efficient route to the delivery store and back to the office.
- Offload the correct goods for the required practice in such a manner as to prevent damages. Assist with the unpacking where required.
- Ensure that the vehicle is never unattended during the delivery process unless secured and locked.
- Accountable for all damages and losses throughout the delivery process.
- Responsible for the Nedfleet card and filling up with fuel using the correct odometer reading.
- Nedfleet card only to be used for the vehicle which the card was allocated to.
- Adhere to the road traffic rules and regulations as per the Road Traffic Act; and the driver is responsible for any traffic fines allocated to the vehicle he/she is driving.
- Responsible to keep the vehicle clean and presentable. Both exterior and interior.
- To assist in Manifesting and Despatch when not on the road.
- To report any vehicle trouble/damage to the Admin Manager the same working day.
- Alert Admin Manager/Dispensary Supervisor of any material delays in deliveries including major traffic conditions.
- Never to utilise the vehicle for any personal trips/stops including lunch and tea times.
- Vehicles are fitted with GPS tracking – any abnormalities will result in disciplinary action.
- Ensure accuracy of delivery of all parcels to correct address.
- To indicate every stop on the daily Driver Trip Sheets.
- To take used boxes to allocated bins @ DC as and when required.
REQUIREMENTS & ESSENTIAL COMPETENCIES
- Valid Driver's License
- Previous driving experience an advantage
- Good knowledge of road traffic rules and regulations
- Ability to work independently and responsibly
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
