About TeleHealthSA
TeleHealthSA is a South African telemedicine platform connecting HPCSA-registered General Practitioners with patients seeking high-quality care. Our mission is to support independent professionals and clinics with advanced technology, marketing, and administrative tools, allowing you to focus on patient care while we manage operational tasks.
Joining us enables you to expand your practice through a growing patient network across South Africa without traditional clinic overhead. Our platform enhances patient reach through targeted digital outreach tailored for General Practitioners and streamlines administrative tasks with automated bookings, payments, and reminders. We support solo practitioners, group practices, and multi-location operations, fully compliant with POPIA for secure data handling.
Position Overview
We seek HPCSA-registered General Practitioners to join our telemedicine ecosystem as independent contractors. This contract-based role offers flexibility to provide telemedicine and in-person services on your own schedule, ideal for supplementing income or building a digital practice.
You control your services, pricing, and hours, while our support team handles non-clinical tasks like patient acquisition and payment processing. Deliver virtual consultations from anywhere or in-person sessions at your practice, with no fixed hours, suitable for professionals in public health, academia, or private practice.
Key Responsibilities
Define and Offer Healthcare Services Based on Your Qualifications: Customize your offerings to match your expertise, such as virtual diagnostics, chronic disease management, or in-person consultations, with the ability to update services as your practice evolves.
- Set Your Own Consultation Fees and Durations: Determine pricing and session lengths based on your experience, market demands, and patient demographics (e.g., R300 for a 15-minute virtual consultation or R900 for a 45-minute in-person session).
- Manage Your Availability and Schedule: Use our intuitive dashboard to set and adjust your calendar in real-time, ensuring work-life balance by reserving time for personal commitments with instant updates to avoid scheduling conflicts.
- Provide Virtual and In-Person Consultations: Deliver care through secure video or phone sessions for telemedicine (suitable for diagnostics or follow-ups) and in-person appointments for hands-on needs, switching seamlessly between formats to maintain high standards.
- Maintain Compliance with HPCSA Guidelines: Adhere to ethical and legal standards, including accurate record-keeping and data protection, supported by our platform's compliance tools.
What We Offer
1. Telemedicine Platform
Our platform ensures seamless, secure interactions, fully compliant with HPCSA and POPIA requirements:
- Secure Video Consultation System with Integrated Booking: Conduct high-quality video calls with end-to-end encryption and screen-sharing capabilities for sharing test results or treatment plans.
- Electronic Health Records (EHR) System: Securely store patient data, manage electronic prescriptions, and track scripts, ensuring easy access, continuity of care, and compliance with data protection standards.
- Flexible Service and Fee Customization: Define your services (e.g., preventive care, teleconsultations), fees, and availability without restrictions, with real-time updates via our dashboard.
- Patient Booking System: Patients book directly through your profile, with calendar synchronization to prevent overlaps. In-person appointments include address details and maps; virtual sessions generate secure links instantly.
- Directory Listings: Gain visibility through our "Find a Doctor" and "Find a Practice" sections, where patients filter by specialty (General Practitioner), location, or ratings, attracting both local and remote patients.
2. Marketing and Design Support
Our marketing and design services enhance your virtual and in-person practice:
- Social Media Profile Management: We create and manage your Facebook and Instagram profiles, optimizing bios with specialty-specific keywords (e.g., "primary care," "telemedicine") and curating consistent, branded content. We handle non-clinical inquiries, escalating clinical questions to you.
- Weekly Custom Content: Five specialty-specific posts per week, such as educational articles (e.g., "Managing Chronic Conditions," "Preventive Health Tips"), patient success stories, or health tips, scheduled for maximum engagement to drive bookings.
- Professional Graphic Design: Our designers create infographics (e.g., chronic disease management tips), promotional videos, and branded banners with your logo and colors for a polished online presence.
- Targeted Advertising Campaigns: Data-driven ads on Facebook, Instagram, and Google target demographics like families in Durban or adults in Johannesburg seeking primary care.
- Community Engagement: Build patient loyalty through interactive content like polls (e.g., "What's your top health concern?"), live Q&A sessions, and newsletters, with engagement metrics to maintain a dynamic presence.
3. Administrative Support
Our dedicated reception team eliminates paperwork and streamlines operations:
- Booking and Scheduling Management: We manage your calendar to prevent overlaps, coordinate alternative slots, and maintain waitlists for high-demand periods.
- Non-Clinical Patient Communications: Handle routine inquiries (e.g., rescheduling, payment confirmations), escalating clinical matters to you.
- Billing and Payment Processing: Oversee secure payment collection via cards or EFT, assist with medical aid claims, and provide a real-time earnings dashboard.
- Performance Reporting: Receive monthly analytics on booking volumes, cancellations, patient retention, and revenue trends, with recommendations to optimize your practice.
Requirements
- HPCSA Registration: Must hold a current, active, and verifiable HPCSA registration number; we assist with verification during onboarding.
- Ethical Patient Care: Demonstrate a patient-centered approach, supported by professional conduct.
- Effective Schedule Management: Be self-motivated, responsive (e.g., confirm bookings within 24 hours), and punctual.
Compensation
- Monthly Support Fee: A fixed R600 per month provides access to our full suite of platform features, marketing, and administrative support. This fee, standard for telehealth platforms, covers operational costs like secure technology, targeted marketing, and back-office services, with no hidden charges or contracts.
- Consultation Commission: A 10% commission is deducted from each completed consultation (e.g., R50 on a R500 session), ensuring you retain 90% of your earnings. This performance-based model aligns our success with yours, with prompt payouts to support your cash flow.
Application Process
- Onboarding Meetings: Schedule a virtual 1-on-1 session (22–26 September 2025, 10 AM–10 PM SAST) to discuss platform details and next steps.
- Registration and Setup: Our team assists with profile creation, calendar integration, and system setup, including EHR and booking tools.
