Purpose of the Role: To take full responsibility for stock control within a manufacturing and warehouse environment, ensuring accuracy of inventory and supporting the supply chain. This role is key to maintaining stock efficiency, optimising warehouse performance, and driving continuous improvements across sites in Cape Town and Pretoria.
Key Responsibilities Include but Are Not Limited To
- Oversee and manage stock control processes across both warehouse locations
- Ensure accurate and timely recording of all stock movements including receipts, dispatches, transfers and production ticket entries
- Coordinate and lead all stocktake activities, from full counts to cycle counts and variance investigations
- Maintain and improve warehouse management systems to ensure real-time traceability
- Analyse stock data using Excel and ERP/WMS tools to support operational decisions
- Implement layout and storage optimisation initiatives to improve warehouse efficiency
- Collaborate with procurement, production and logistics to ensure alignment of stock levels and flow
- Champion best practices in stock control to meet operational performance targets
- BCom degree, preferably in Logistics or Finance
- 5 years’ experience in stock control, warehouse coordination or related logistics role
- FMCG or manufacturing background advantageous
- Strong numerical ability and analytical thinking skills
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, reconciliations)
- Proficiency in ERP/WMS systems (e.g. Paradigm, Syspro, NetSuite)
- Experience managing WIP, slow-moving and expiring stock
- Valid driver’s licence with own reliable transport, willing to travel between sites
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across teams

This role oversees key administrative tasks across the supply chain, from imports to store delivery, while supporting operations and store controls. Although the position is based at our Head Office in Stellenbosch, the incumbent's focus will be Angola and will assist the CEO Angola and Operations Manager Angola with some of their tasks, which allows them to focus on growth initiatives. The role aims to streamline the import process to enable faster, smaller shipments, reduce costs such as overpaid duties and port fees, and include Vide e Caffè products in consolidated shipments. Enhance stock control by minimising waste, enforcing FIFO practices, and preventing suppliers from delivering short-dated stock.

Duties/ Responsibilities
- Own and expedite supply order plans (generated by Angola CEO) from plan to delivery in the shortest possible timeframe so that stock can be ordered and arrive more regularly within the country
- Review shelf-life before leaving the supplier’s premises to get the maximum shelf-life possible
- Place purchase orders (POs) for the Distribution Centre (DC) and review store POs for drinks suppliers, collect all proof of delivery (PODs) from stores to do the actual goods receiving (GRViing) and liaise with finance to get the invoices processed accurately
- Work closely with all suppliers and the Hungry Lion Group procurement buyer to expedite RSA stock, ensuring reduced lead times from suppliers and shorter consolidation timeframes at the Cape Town warehouses to Angola
- Drive the import documentation process ensuring all documents are generated and accurately filed
- Apply for import sanitary licenses and distribution unit (DU) permits; coordinate with local Angolan personnel, including the freight forwarder, to conduct repeat visits to the agriculture department for sanitary licenses and the Ministry of Commerce for DU permits. Maintain a sense of urgency to streamline the process, reduce permit acquisition times, and shorten import lead times
- Coordinate with non-RSA global suppliers, including the Brazilian chicken supplier and Timbro for European chip supply, to ensure seamless import cycles and promptly address any supplier processes or issues
- Prepare initial plans for simpler projects and take on responsibilities typically handled by a project manager for non-complex projects
- Maintain item master data and BOMs/recipes for Angola including updating local and HQ prices in relevant systems including Winrest
- Assist in driving relevant system initiatives, e.g. Wooqer and CoPilot
- Fluent Portuguese and English are essential. This is a non-negotiable
- A tertiary qualification in Supply Chain/Logistics is preferable

Key Responsibilities
- Be a co-pilot to Site Production teams in decision making through solicited and unsolicited advice based on financial analysis and in-depth knowledge of business operations.
