Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on diesel trucks and related components.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
- Conduct engine overhauls, brake system repairs, clutch replacements, and gearbox maintenance.
- Ensure all repairs are completed to manufacturer and company standards.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed.
- Comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations at all times.
- Assist with breakdowns and roadside repairs when required.
- Report faults and required parts to the Workshop Supervisor/Foreman.
Minimum Requirements:
- Red Seal Trade Test Qualification
(Diesel Mechanic essential). - Valid Driver's License
(Code EC or higher preferred). - Minimum
3–5 years' experience
working on heavy-duty trucks (Volvo, Scania, MAN, Mercedes-Benz, or similar). - Strong knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, and braking systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Physically fit and able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Willingness to work overtime, standby, and attend breakdowns if required.
