Job Description
- Assessment: Evaluating patients' physical and emotional needs, developing
individualized care plans, and monitoring progress.
- Education: Teaching patients and families about kidney disease, treatment options,
and self-care management.
- Dialysis: Managing dialysis treatment including haemodialysis peritoneal dialysis,
and continuous renal replacement therapy.
- Medication Management: Administering and monitoring medications related to
kidney diseases and dialysis.
- Fluid and electrolyte management: Monitoring and managing fluid and electrolyte
imbalances.
- Collaboration: Working with interdisciplinary teams including nephrologists,
dietitians, and social workers.
- Advocacy: Supporting patients' rights and interests, promoting quality care and
safety.
- Research and evidence-based practice: Staying current with research and
incorporating evidence-based practice into care.
- Patient support: Providing emotional support and counselling to patients and
families coping with kidney disease.
- Education and training: Participating in ongoing education and training to maintain
expertise and certification.
