Your Key Responsibilities:
Operational Management:
Oversee all daily warehouse activities: receiving, storing, picking, packing, and dispatch.
Take a hands-on role in loading/unloading, stock movement, and physical inventory handling.
Ensure all operational KPIs (e.g., picking accuracy, dispatch times, stock rotation) are consistently met or exceeded.
Maintain and continuously improve warehouse layout and storage optimization.
Staff Supervision & Development:
Lead, train, and motivate a team of warehouse operatives and supervisors.
Develop rot, manage workload distribution, and ensure adequate staffing levels.
Conduct regular team briefings and performance reviews.
Foster a positive culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
Inventory Control:
Maintain 100% accurate inventory records using our WMS or manual systems.
Monitor stock levels and lead cycle counts and full stock takes.
Investigate and resolve any stock discrepancies promptly and effectively.
Health, Safety & Compliance:
Ensure full compliance with all Health & Safety legislation and internal policies.
Conduct regular risk assessments, safety audits, and team training.
Champion and maintain safe systems of work and correct manual handling practices.
Process & Continuous Improvement:
Identify, propose, and implement process improvements to boost efficiency and reduce costs.
Liaise closely with internal departments (Procurement, Sales, Customer Service) to ensure seamless operations.
Provide accurate and timely reporting on KPIs and operational metrics.
What We're Looking For (The Essentials):
Proven experience in a senior warehouse or logistics supervisory/management role.
A true hands-on approach with a willingness to be physically involved in daily operations.
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Solid understanding of end-to-end warehouse processes, stock control, and goods flow.
Familiarity with WMS systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
In-depth knowledge of Health & Safety regulations and warehouse risk management.
Ability to work under pressure, prioritize effectively, and meet tight deadlines.
What Will Make You Stand Out (The Desirables):
A valid Forklift Truck license (Counterbalance and/or Reach).
Experience within a fast-moving, high-volume environment (e.g., FMCG, e-commerce).
