Reporting to the Group Manager of Engineering the Design Manager will be a key stakeholder in leading and managing multi discipline engineering and design activities, for projects and studies, in consultation with all project stakeholders to ensure that standards of technical compliance, quality, cost, safety, sustainability and environmental performance are observed and that time schedules are met.
The tasks you'll perform
- Interdisciplinary co-ordination of technical aspects of the project engineering, design and drafting.
- Monitoring the progress and performance of the project design team, giving input and providing feedback and support where necessary
- Progress reporting to the project management team
- Coordinating the multi-discipline engineering and design & draughting resources assigned to allocated tasks, to achieve agreed deliverable with the scheduled dates and allocated man-hour budgets.
- Consistently providing engineering designs and solutions within agreed milestone dates and to a high standard of accuracy and professionalism.
- Approve, guide and review engineering designs, including calculations & design development.
- Ensure associated engineering and design procedures are adhered to including, but not limited to, calculation checking, design reviews and change management.
- Maximise the productivity and efficiency of the study and project teams by planning, scheduling, appropriate allocation of resources and ensuring collaborative teamwork to ensure deliverables are met.
- Consistently incorporate safety in design and technical integrity within the engineering design process
- Contribute to engineers-in-training professional development by providing consistent mentoring and identify avenues of development.
- Develop and contribute to the delivery of improvement initiatives which support business priorities for continuous improvement.
The expertise you'll bring
- Tertiary level qualification in Engineering (Mechanical or equivalent)
- 15+ years' experience in mineral processing or related industries. Experience in gold will be considered favourably.
- Professional Registration (ECSA or equivalent).
- South African Citizen or Permanent Resident
- Cape Town based
- High attention to detail, demonstrated high level of technical ability, and exceptional knowledge across a broad range of disciplines.
- Demonstrated commitment to providing high quality service to Clients within budget and time constraints.
- Extensive understanding of studies, projects and detailed design execution, mine operation challenges and requirements, and risk management process.
- Excellent interpersonal and client interaction skills.
- Willing to travel within and outside of South Africa on an ad-hoc basis to suit the needs of the business and its operations.
- Commitment to continuously seek improvement in engineering solutions and design with a focus on new technologies and innovation.
- Intuitive leadership skills with the ability to initiate, lead and manage change in a complex environment.

Role Summary: The Creative Visionary
This role is responsible for the
execution and stewardship of the Seeff brand's visual identity

for digital, print, and multimedia use by the wider group and its licensees.
Key Responsibilities:
The role is divided into two phases, ensuring you master creative production before transitioning into broader leadership:
Phase 1: Creative Production & Brand Stewardship (Hands-On Design)
- Brand Authority:
Act as the
primary custodian
of Seeff's visual integrity. In collaboration with the Strategic Marketing Manager, you will
evolve and maintain comprehensive brand guidelines
(CI, typography, colour, tone) for all platforms. - Digital Design:
Design and produce a full range of master digital collateral (social graphics, email templates, animated GIFs, web banners, infographics).
Collaborate with the Technical Digital Marketer | UX/UI
to design user-centric interfaces, prototypes, and wireframes for
, optimizing all assets for fast load times. - Print & Offline Design:
Lead the design of master traditional marketing templates (brochures, flyers, national ads, billboards, signage). Ensure
flawless pre-press production
(CMYK, bleed, trim) for professional printing. Design internal corporate templates (presentations, stationery, business cards). - Multimedia:
Provide creative direction for video and multimedia content, including motion graphics, property showcases, and brand stories. - Creative Workflow:
Establish efficient creative workflows and manage a
centralized library of design assets
for internal teams and branches.
Phase 2: Growth into Creative Leadership & Team Enablement (Head of Design)
- Creative Direction:
Lead the conceptualisation and development of major creative campaigns, defining the visual narrative and standards. Stay current on

Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role located in Johannesburg for a Design Office Manager. The Design Office Manager will be responsible for overseeing budgeting, managing a team, coordinating projects, and ensuring organizational efficiency. Additionally, the role involves utilizing Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software for design and project planning. Daily tasks include monitoring project progress, managing resources, and ensuring high-quality standards are met throughout the design and installation processes.

About this Role
We're in the exciting process of building a cutting-edge digital ecosystem primarily focused on a new app, and we're seeking a strategic, delivery-focused Senior Digital/Design Program Manager to help drive digital delivery excellence.
Reporting to the Head of Digital / Head of UX/UI, you will play a crucial role in bridging the gap between the UX/UI team and cross-functional areas such as Product, Tech, QA, Ops and Analytics, to establish a stronger cadence and cohesion in delivery.
You will oversee the digital design portfolio across Loyalty & Rewards in the Sanlam FinTech space, ensuring seamless coordination, faster delivery, and an elevated end-to-end user and customer experience.
What will you do?
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Portfolio and Operational Leadership
1. Own the digital design (UX/UI) portfolio for Loyalty & Rewards, aligning design and digital strategy with business goals & priority.
2. Govern design workflows with clear stage-gates, prioritization criteria, design readiness criteria, budget oversight, and stakeholder alignment.
End-to-End Delivery Management
1. Act as the gatekeeper for UX/UI work intake by supporting Product Owners in refining requirements and ensuring only validated, complete, customer-focused, and technically feasible requests are briefed into the team.
2. Manage UX/UI team capacity, Jira workflows, and sprints to ensure smooth delivery.
3. Facilitate collaboration across Product, UX/UI, and Tech by resolving blockers, enabling frictionless handovers, and synchronizing backlog, scope, release, and sprint planning to accelerate delivery.
4. Oversee BAU and change requests, ensuring incidents, bugs, changes and stakeholder needs are triaged and resolved efficiently.
Stakeholder Collaboration & Alignment
1. Serve as the central liaison for the UX/UI team and ensure cross-functional alignment by providing clear visibility into roadmaps, priorities, and dependencies to manage stakeholder expectations and enable informed decision-making around sequencing and trade-offs.
2. Work in close collaboration with the Technical Program Manager on UX/UI-Tech interdependencies, and with other cross-functional teams on deliverables requiring UX/UI input and execution.
Analytics, Reporting & Continuous Improvement
1. Report on UX/UI and digital metrics & analytics in board reports and monthly forums, including delivery, performance, and progress updates.
2. Define and track user experience KPIs to measure outcomes and identify areas for improvement.
3. Drive continuous improvement cycles using customer data and behavioural insights, ensuring the digital experience evolves continuously.

- Degree in Business, Project Management, Design, Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 10+ years of experience in digital delivery, portfolio/program management, design operations, or a related field - ideally within large-scale, complex environments.
- Proven experience in mobile app delivery
