The key purpose of this role is to maximize business value, enhance overall value chain predictability and performance through improved sales forecast accuracy and effective portfolio management. The Demand Planning Specialist will do this by analysing and enriching statistical forecasts and collaborating with commercial teams, ensuring alignment and consensus on both weekly and monthly forecasts for release to the supply chain, while optimizing the product portfolio.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Support and Manage Zone LCP as per Scope Requirement (E.g. Demand Planning, Portfolio, Management, S&OP)
  • Prepare, Manage and Facilitate key Demand and Portfolio routines (E.g. S&OE, S&OP, Portfolio Review, Demand Review, Supply Review)

Baseline Forecasting

  • Oversee the generation and validation of statistical forecasting outputs, ensuring the application of best-fit models and appropriate disaggregation across relevant time horizons.
  • Drive Touchless Demand Planning through enriched statistical forecasting and improved statistical forecast accuracy.

Commercial Enrichment & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Champion commercial enrichment initiatives (E.g. Marketing Calendars, Events, Promotions, NPDs, Discontinuations)
  • Foster strong cross-functional collaboration with commercial, supply chain, and finance teams to integrate business intelligence and market trends into planning and portfolio decisions, including the integration of scenario planning and risk management into the demand planning cycle

Advanced Data Analysis and Management

  • Direct the preparation, analysis, and implementation of recommendations for Demand Planning data (e.g., master data, aggregation rules, segmentation, demand drivers, normalization).
  • Ensure appropriate master data management of Demand and Portfolio data within Demand/Portfolio planning tools (e.g. Active SKU validation, Delist actions, NPD/NPI Introduction).

Portfolio Management

  • Partake in Portfolio strategies to optimize product mix, drive profitability, and align with market opportunities.
  • Facilitate product introductions (NPD/NPI), rationalizations and lifecycle management by engaging in monthly Portfolio Reviews
  • Collaborate with Zone Portfolio, Marketing, Revenue, Sales, and Innovations to identify and prioritize new product opportunities, manage discontinuations, and ensure portfolio alignment with business objectives.

Reporting Tools & Executive Communication

  • Lead the implementation, enhancement, and utilization of zone reporting tools and dashboards.
  • Prepare and deliver regular reports and executive presentations on key performance metrics (e.g., Forecast Accuracy, Bias, SCOH, Touchless Demand Planning, etc.) and strategic recommendations to senior leadership.

Continuous Improvement & Capability Building

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance forecast accuracy, portfolio performance, and value chain efficiency.
  • Mentor and develop team members, fostering a culture of analytical excellence, innovation, and best practice adoption in demand and portfolio management.

  • Effective numeracy, analytical skills & problem solving at both operational and tactical levels
  • Ability to manage complexity and ambiguity
  • Good communicator across all levels within and external to the organisation

  • Basic business financial understanding would be advantageous

Minimum Requirements:

  • Candidate should have a 3-year Bachelor level degree in Sciences or Commercial or similar degree or equivalent tertiary education
  • Ideal candidate should have between 3-5 years experience in the Demand Planning, sales/marketing, planning or supply chain disciplines in an FMCG environment

Key performance areas :

Core Responsibilities
  • Build & Maintain a Dynamic Forecasting Model: Integrate and weight key data sources — including historical sales, customer forecasts, sales velocity, promotional calendars, and sales team insights — to build a reliable demand forecast model.
  • Drive Forecast Accuracy Through Iteration: Continuously update your model with the latest inputs. Refine assumptions based on historical trends, seasonality, and cross-functional feedback.
  • Translate Data into Action: Deliver timely and actionable forecast reports to our inventory team and manufacturing partners to ensure supply aligns with demand.

POSITION INFO:

Job Purpose

Responsible for the correct storing, movement and stock take of all dry goods / consumables and product inventory according to company procedures with specific focus on stock intake and investigation of any stock variances throughout the stock flow process.

Reporting to:

Head: Financial Reporting and Analysis

Output:

Inventory

  • Responsible for the movement and control of all product inventories, including carcasses / boxes from internal and external suppliers according to company processes and procedures.
  • Responsible for the movement, control and issuing of all dry goods / consumable inventory according to company processes and procedures.
  • Ensure accurate and adequate labelling and positioning of all labels.
  • Orchestrating all paperwork to creditors department on stock intakes (On-and offsite locations)
  • Weekly stocktaking (including the posting of stock batches) of all dry goods / consumables and product inventory according to agreed SOP’s.
  • Weekly/Monthly reconciliations of Inventory movements and investigating all discrepancies/deviances to implement corrective actions.

Management Reporting and Analysis

  • Weekly/Monthly reporting of Inventory movements and variances.
  • Recognizing and reporting on patterns and trends in weekly/monthly Inventory movements and variances.
  • Serve as Finance support to the Plant Manager and Analyst team (specific with regards to stock related matters).

People Supervision

  • Supervise and control stock take teams.
  • Assure stable employee relations by managing conflict and creating a positive and performing working environment.

Qualification details

  • BCom degree in finance

Experience

  • 3 - 5 years inventory control experience
  • 1 -2 years supervisory experience

Working week

  • Tuesday to Saturday (Please note for the first few months the working week will be from Monday to Friday, however when the Malmesbury Plant starts up, the working week will change to Tuesday to Saturday)

Plants/Location

  • The candidate will have the responsibility of working at two plants located in Elsies River and Malmesbury.
  • It will be necessary for the candidate to divide their time between the plants, being present at both locations on a weekly basis.
  • Ad hoc visits to the offsite storage facilities.

Role Description & Responsibilities

As Pre-sales Consultant in Supply Chain & Manufacturing Planning DELMIA, you will be part of the “EuroWest” team responsible for MEA pre-sales activities regarding our DELMIA Quintiq & DELMIA Ortems solutions. These solutions offer extensive functionalities and optimization capabilities that enable customers to solve complex planning and scheduling challenges across various industries (Energy & Materials, Transport, Logistics, etc.), with a focus on transport and logistics planning.

In close collaboration with our Sales team, you will execute technical activities necessary for the sales cycle.

  • Define, develop, and implement strategies for opportunities, identifying challenges and key stakeholders at customer sites.
  • Articulate value by understanding and mapping customer requirements, their impact on business processes, KPIs, and KVIs, demonstrating how our solutions deliver expected value.
  • Prepare and deliver customer presentations, demonstrations, and responses to tenders.
  • Act as Opportunity Technical Leader, overseeing all related activities.
  • Support pre-sales activities for DELMIA Quintiq and DELMIA Ortems through advice, methodologies, and informational sessions.
  • Collaborate as a unified team with all relevant DASSAULT SYSTEMES organizations (Sales, Industry, Brands, R&D, Services, etc.).
Qualifications

BSc, MSc, or PhD in Business Administration, Information Technology, Mathematics, or Supply Chain Management, with electives in Operations Research, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, or mathematical optimization.

Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role with the following skills:

  • Experience in transportation and logistics processes involved in production, storage, inventory, delivery, and distribution across industries like rail, mining, ports, airports.
  • Experience in supply chain strategic, tactical, and operational processes (S&OP, MPS, MRP, Scheduling).
  • Experience in planning, scheduling, and optimizing supply chain/logistics and manufacturing, preferably across multiple industries.
  • Experience with planning software as a user, developer, or consultant.
  • Ability to work independently within multicultural teams.
  • Effective communication skills across organizational levels, from operations to C-Level.
  • Experience with value selling approach.

You are curious, enjoy solving puzzles, and eager to learn. You seek responsibility and ownership, are proactive, and persistent in overcoming challenges.

The final job location will be in Johannesburg, South Africa, with an initial integration period of a few months in Velizy, France.

Fluent in English; French language skills are a plus.
