Director, Data, Insights and Analytics
Responsible for effective communication of Commercial Drivers of the Business in “What Happened?” and “Why Did It Happen?” format; will oversee a team dedicated to delivering data-driven insights and analytics solutions that enable actionable strategies for commercial success in the Africa Operating Unit (OU). This role is critical to supporting revenue growth, improving decision-making, and driving a measurable impact across markets and channels. Will be responsible for managing data infrastructure, advanced analytics, insights generation, and execution alignment with cross-functional teams, including total support of Commercial Organization.
Function Related Activities/Key Responsibilities (Top 5-8 core responsibilities)
- Define and implement the data and analytics strategy, ensuring alignment with broader commercial and AOU Goals
- Own the development and maintenance of data pipelines, infrastructure, and governance frameworks to ensure clean, accurate, and accessible data.
- Leverage internal and external data sources (e.g., bottler data, Nielsen, Panel, Macro) to support actionable insights with Standard Reporting.
- Translate complex analytics into clear, actionable insights and decision frameworks for commercial organization and key stakeholders
- Deliver real-time dashboards, reports, and presentations to track performance as well as Commercial Input metrics
- Develop predictive analytics models (e.g., demand forecasting, price elasticity, promo effectiveness) to enable proactive commercial strategies in markets with dynamic challenges (e.g., inflation, affordability).
- Become champions of Commercial Advanced Analytics tools such as Copilot, PvP, TPO
Functional Skills:

- Hands-on experience with syndicated data (Nielsen, Kantar, IRI) and building unified dashboards for decision-making.
- Exceptional ability to turn raw data into actionable insights through advanced modeling (e.g., price elasticity, forecasting, churn analysis).
- Strong proficiency in analytical tools (Excel, Programming, AI) and visualization platforms (Power BI, Tableau, Looker)
Education Requirements:
- Minimum Required: Bachelor’s degree (engineering, finance, business, economics)
- Preferred Level: Master degree in business or associated field
Related Work Experience:
- Minimum of 7+ years’ experience in sales, finance or RGM with expertise in customer planning, focused on delivery of world-class results in a complex, distributed environment.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver upon results; ability to make decisions in ambiguous situations
- Business performance management – practical experience using data systems to track and steward frontline initiative execution
- Demonstrated experience using analytics to drive commercial results, including pricing, portfolio optimization, and execution strategies.
Preferred Level:
- Extensive experience (10 years +)
- Field and headquarter experience working closely across finance, sales & marketing, BIS, etc.
- Business operations experience with execution accountability

About
As the Data Analytics Lead at Lokalise, you will spearhead our data analytics initiatives and foster a data-driven culture across the company. Your leadership will ensure that comprehensive, end-to-end analytics support our product and growth strategy, empowering decision-making and innovation at every level.
This full-time, remote role demands a visionary leader passionate about leveraging data to unlock insights, optimize performance, and drive growth.
You Will
- Build and Mentor: lead a team of data analysts and scientists, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning.
- Lead and Expand Analytics Vision: develop and implement a comprehensive analytics strategy that aligns with our product and growth objectives, overseeing all aspects of company data analytics from collection to interpretation.
- Build and consolidate our data foundations ensuring the data analytics team’s present and future, enhancing and consolidating future analysis.
- Develop and Maintain a Single Source of Truth: own the design, development, automation, and maintenance of ongoing metrics, reports, analyses, and dashboards on the key drivers of our business
- Foster Data-Driven Culture: champion the use of data in strategic decision-making, ensuring data accessibility and literacy across all departments.
- Collaborate and Influence: work closely with finance, product, engineering, sales, marketing, and customer success teams to ensure that analytics insights inform product development, go-to-market strategies, and customer experiences.
- Work hand-to-hand with our Product team to define our Tracking plan, and make sure we observe and understand our users across the product funnel 360º.
- Drive Innovation: Identify opportunities for data to create competitive advantage and support new product features or business models.
- Ensure Data Integrity: Oversee the development and maintenance of robust data infrastructure, data governance policies, and privacy standards to ensure data accuracy and security.
You Must Have
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, or a related field.
- Extensive experience in data analytics, preferably in a product-led growth company, with a proven track record of leveraging data to drive decision-making and growth.
- Strong leadership skills with experience building and managing analytics teams.
- Proficiency in analytics and data tools and technologies (e.g., SQL, Python, Metabase, DBT, Kafka, etc.) and knowledge of statistical analysis, predictive modeling, and machine learning techniques.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex data insights into actionable strategies across different organizational levels.

Main purpose of positionWe are currently looking for a Data Analytics Engineer in Cape Town, South Africa, to join our global team working towards our vision – Improving our future .
As our Data Analytics Engineer, you will be responsible for driving the business to make data-driven decisions and enhancing self-service Business Intelligence within Scatec.
The role involves engaging with teams across departments such as Finance, Project Development, Asset Management, HR, Solutions, and Operations & Maintenance (O&M) to understand business processes and value drivers, and to specify data requirements. You will have exposure to various levels of the data landscape, owning the end-to-end data flow, including data architecture, governance, and systems, and communicating best practices across the organization.
Main responsibilities- Develop, own, and maintain a central data architecture and platform/service for relevant organizational data.
- Deliver valuable and high-quality data products to business units.
- Expand and centralize our common business data and data models.
- Ensure infrastructure and database optimization for improved delivery lead-time.
- Design and implement data governance processes.
- Build and maintain datasets for self-service reports across the organization.
- Maintain global standard reports and datasets.
- Train end-users in reporting and analysis tools.
- Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Informatics, Information Systems, or a related quantitative field from a technical university.
- 4-6 years of professional experience in the energy sector, client-facing roles preferred.
- Expertise in data engineering, building transformation pipelines using SQL and DBT.
- Strong knowledge of data modeling, warehousing, and governance concepts.
- Experience with Databricks, Azure.
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code, DevOps, DataOps.
- Proficiency in data integration and visualization/reporting tools such as Tableau, Power BI, and Excel.
- Familiarity with Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations is a plus.
- Knowledge of ML models and MLOps is advantageous.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken; additional languages are a plus.

What You’ll Do
You’ll play a critical role in solving some of our most pressing data challenges. This role isn’t just about dashboards, it’s about fixing the root of broken data, redefining core metrics, and building the pipelines that power every team from Product to Sales to Finance.
- Design and maintain robust data pipelines (ETL/ELT) across platforms such as Salesforce, Google Ads, Meta Ads, Stripe, and CMS systems
- Perform data normalization, cleansing, transformation to align disparate datasets
- Map and integrate data from CMS, CRM, Google Ads, Meta Ads, and other platforms
- Proactively identify data gaps and quality issues and implement fixes
- Integrate AI tools into internal workflows and identify areas of the product where AI can be included.
- Define and monitor KPI's across departments
- Conduct analysist to support product, marketing, sales and other strategic decisionsInvestigate and resolve data integrity issues across products, users, conversions, and retention.
- Redefine and implement accurate business metrics (e.g. what constitutes a conversion, per subject, per class, per level).
- Build and maintain robust data pipelines (SQL + Python) to transform raw data into structured, reliable datasets.
- Design and deploy interactive Power BI dashboards that help teams make faster, better decisions.
- Collaborate across departments (Product, Sales, Marketing, Finance, Ops) to understand data needs and build scalable solutions.
- Build and document relational data models that reflect the reality of our business and customer journeys.
- Assist in implementing data governance, ownership protocols, and best practices for scalable analytics.
- Drive a company wide shift toward data transparency, consistency, and confidence in reporting.
Our Stack
We don’t expect you to know everything but you should be comfortable with or excited to learn:
- SQL (PostgreSQL, BigQuery, or similar)
- Python for scripting and transformation
- Power BI for reporting and dashboarding (bonus if you know DAX or row-level security)
- Salesforce (CRM data integration and reporting)
- Heroku hosted Ruby on Rails app (you’ll be working with its data outputs)
- AWS for content and infrastructure (S3, databases, etc.)
- Bonus: experience with DBT, Airflow, or orchestration tools for pipeline management
Who You Are
- 3–10 years of experience in Data Engineering, Analytics Engineering, or BI focused data roles
- Proven track record of solving real business problems through data
- Able to work with messy or unreliable datasets and design systems that make them trustworthy
- Collaborative and curious: you love working with different teams and asking why?
- Comfortable translating non-technical requests into scalable, accurate data products
- Obsessed with clean, maintainable, scalable systems and not one-off solutions
Preferred Educational Background
We’re specifically looking for candidates with a Bachelor’s or Honours degree in:
