Major Activities

  • Develop, implement, and manage procedures and processes relating to the security, legal handling and sharing of data.
  • Analyse and interpret large amounts of data.

  • Conduct regular data security audits and risk assessments.
  • Ensure timely compilation and submission of all the required reports (internal and external) to ensure compliance.
  • Collaborate with expert teams to design and maintain data architectures that support business needs.
  • Evaluate, develop and implement data management tools and technologies including new ways of managing big data like the usage of artificial intelligence and quantum computing.
  • Monitor and report on data quality metrics and drive continuous improvement.
  • Manage data archival and disposal processes.
  • Develop and manage relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Conclude SLAs with the various units to ensure business expectations are managed.
  • Provide inputs to the departmental budget development process.
  • Manage finances in line with business needs and priorities, and within set financial parameters.
  • Manage and co-ordinate the data management and automation team to ensure optimal deployment and development of skills.

Minimum Qualifications

B.Eng. or BSc in Computer Science or related field such as Electronics/Electrical/Computer Engineering/Data Management/Information Systems/Computer Science/Computer Studies/Information Technology/Data Analytics/Data Management/Information Systems.

Post Graduate Degree in Computer Science or related field such as Electronics/Electrical/Computer Engineering/Data Management/Information Systems/Computer Science/Computer Studies/Information Technology/Data Analytics/Data Management/Information Systems.

Systems or related studies will be an advantage.

A seasoned professional with minimum a minimum of 8 years of experience in information technology, data management, and engineering is required, of which at least 5 years must be at the management level within a complex operations environment, preferably air traffic services/air traffic management.

Information Services' objectives are to support organisational goals by managing, preserving and

providing continuing access to CLC's business information and cultural heritage assets and resources.

Further, to optimise the use and value of information assets and resources by building the information

literacy skills of staff The section is accountable for the provision of collection preservation, storage

and access services. CLC records consist of paper-based files, audio visual and digital records, bound

volumes, photographs, maps and other objects and formats.

This position holder will be responsible for the design and management of the organisation's Privacy

Management Program. Leading a small Data-team, the Coordinator will progress and manage the

organizational Information Asset Register, based on the Business System Assessment.

Location: Bryanston, Johannesburg (Hybrid / Flexible Working Hours) Contract: 6 months starting asap/1 July 2025 Overview: A leading digital solutions consultancy is seeking a dynamic Scrum Master with proven experience leading Data Warehouse, Analytics, and Business Intelligence (BI) projects. The role involves guiding senior technical teams delivering complex Azure-based data solutions, optimizing workflows, and facilitating Agile best practices. The ideal candidate will have deep Jira expertise, strong communication skills, and the confidence to engage with senior stakeholders and executives. Key Responsibilities Facilitate Agile ceremonies including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and backlog grooming. Guide teams in Agile principles and ensure consistent Scrum practices. Optimize team workflows using Atlassian Jira, including customization and reporting. Collaborate with Product Owners, Data Engineers, and Analysts to define and manage backlog priorities. Identify and eliminate impediments to keep delivery on track. Monitor sprint velocity and Agile metrics to track project performance. Align team deliverables with business objectives, particularly within Azure Data Warehousing and BI contexts. Coach team members on Agile methodologies and Jira best practices. Promote continuous improvement and foster a culture of collaboration and innovation. Required Skills & Experience Demonstrated experience as a Scrum Master in Data Warehouse , Analytics , or Business Intelligence environments. Proficiency in Atlassian Jira , including custom workflows, dashboards, and Agile reporting. Deep understanding of Agile frameworks: Scrum , Kanban , SAFe , etc. Strong experience working with technical teams including Data Engineers , BI Developers , and Analysts . Exceptional communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills. Ability to lead Agile adoption across teams and ensure alignment with business priorities. Certification in Scrum or Agile methodologies (e.g., CSM , PSM ) is highly desirable. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Azure-based Data Warehousing or cloud analytics solutions. Familiarity with BI tools such as Power BI , Tableau , or Looker . Additional certifications in Agile frameworks or project delivery methodologies. RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as primary point of contact for customer on data management deliverables
  • Manage multiple large studies or program of studies (possibly global)
  • Provide leadership and senior support to DTLs on multiple large global programs of global studies
  • Provide project management expertise working with customer data managers, key decision makers, and internal team members to manage continuous process improvements, issue escalation, workload projections, and provide technical expertise
  • Lead direct negotiations with customer, e.g., timelines, financial, process, resources
  • Meet with Data Operations team members on a regular basis to ensure milestones meet timelines and quality deliverables
  • Independently manage DM service delivery with comprehensive DM process and technical expertise in executing projects
  • Serve as the escalation point for unresolved data issues
  • Ensure appropriate resources are assigned to meet project deliverables
  • Create and/or review and sign-off on all data management plan (DMP) documents
  • Manage service performance and provide leadership to identify root causes of issues and implement remedial actions
  • Serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME)
  • Provide leadership and expertise in a specific CDM task or technology
  • Independently manage SOW/budget
  • Independently bring process improvements and solutions to the CDM team/CDM department
  • Lead a focus team or global or local best practice team
  • Provide review and expert opinion in developing, revising, and maintaining core operating procedures and work instructions

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Previous experience and proven competence in managing delivery of multiple global trials through full DM life-cycle (i.e. large trials of at least 1000 patients)
  • Demonstrated expert data management skills and advanced knowledge of the data management process (e.g., therapeutic area, extensive knowledge in DM processes, SAE reconciliation, external data vendor reconciliation)
  • Previous experience and proven competence in handling complex customer negotiations and bid defense meetings independently
  • Knowledge of Medical Terminology, Pharmacology, Anatomy, and/or Physiology
  • Knowledge of operating procedures and work instructions and the ability to apply them in practice
  • Knowledge of Good Clinical Practices and relevant regulatory guidelines
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, customer service, and teamwork skills
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Comprehensive understanding of clinical drug development process
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, managers and customers

MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree, or educational equivalent, in health, clinical, biological or mathematical sciences, or related field
  • Around 7 years direct Data Management experience, including 5 or more years as a CDM project lead; or equivalent combination of education, training and experience
