The Management Information System (MIS) Team is looking for a positive, self-driven team member within the Business Intelligence Development.

The MiWay MIS Team is responsible to provide Business intelligence (BI) as a solution that includes the applications, infrastructure, tools, and best practices that enable access to and analysis of information to improve and optimize decisions and performance within MiWay as a business.

We need to deliver the technology-related insight necessary for our business users to make the right decisions, every day.

The candidate must have passion for data, numbers , reporting and show strong capabilities when developing BI solutions. The main key performance area will be to develop reporting solutions as a Business Intelligence developer.

Minimum Qualification Required

What will make you successful in this role?

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop reports using pivot tables and OLAP/Tabular data warehouse structures.
  • Analyze data from multiple sources (e.g., sales, customer, financial) to create integrated views for business insights.
  • Work with large and complex SQL databases.
  • Develop and maintain SSIS packages, SSRS reports, and SSAS OLAP or Tabular cubes (SQL Server 2010 or higher).
  • Collaborate with business users to understand and deliver on reporting requirements.

Minimum Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in a Microsoft SQL environment.
  • Proficient in SQL, SSIS, SSRS, and SSAS.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Power BI would be an advantage

  • 5 years in a technical role with experience in data modelling.

Required nature of experience:

Job Description

The Management Information System (MIS) Team is seeking a positive, self-driven Business Intelligence Developer. The team provides BI solutions including applications, infrastructure, tools, and best practices to enable access to and analysis of information, thereby improving decision-making and performance within MiWay. The successful candidate will have a passion for data, reporting, and strong BI development skills, primarily focusing on developing reporting solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop reports using pivot tables and OLAP/Tabular data warehouse structures.
  • Analyze data from multiple sources (sales, customer, financial) to create integrated views for insights.
  • Work with large SQL databases.
  • Develop and maintain SSIS packages, SSRS reports, and SSAS OLAP or Tabular cubes (SQL Server 2010 or higher).
  • Collaborate with business users to understand and fulfill reporting requirements.

Minimum Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in a Microsoft SQL environment.
  • Proficiency in SQL, SSIS, SSRS, and SSAS.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of Power BI (advantageous).
  • Knowledge of Oracle (advantageous).

Requirements
  • Grade 12 or equivalent required
  • Degree or Diploma in Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Data Science, or related qualification required.
  • Microsoft certification in power BI is an advantage.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as a BI Developer
  • 3 - 5 years of relevant experience in SQL development and Business Intelligence.
  • 3 - 5 years’ experience with BI tools such as Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, or similar.
  • 3 – 5 years’ experience in data warehouse design and data mining
  • Retail industry experience is preferred.
