Job Role:
The Senior Data Analyst role is responsible for analysing the customer acquisition funnel, ensuring SIM distribution translates into quality activations and long-term customer value. This role provides insights into inflow performance, early lifecycle stickiness, and channel effectiveness. By translating data into actionable recommendations, the role supports strategic growth, campaign optimisation, and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Analyse the full acquisition funnel from SIM distribution to activation to recharge.
- Measure and report on activation quality and identify fraudulent or non-productive activations.
- Track early lifecycle performance (0–6 months), including recharge timing, frequency, and ARPU ramp-up.
- Build dashboards to monitor acquisition KPIs such as conversion %, stickiness, and inflow ARPU.
- Evaluate channel and campaign performance, identifying which sources deliver quality customers.
- Provide insights into ROI of acquisition incentives (e.g., CIB payouts, tiered SIM rewards).
- Profile customers at the point of acquisition to predict long-term retention and value.
- Partner with Retention Analyst to link acquisition sources with churn outcomes.
- Deliver monthly Acquisition Health Reports with insights and recommendations.
- Work with Brand and Campaign teams to guide targeting and onboarding strategies.
- Support operational teams with real-time acquisition insights to improve field performance.
- Contribute to strategic planning by highlighting acquisition opportunities and risks.
Job Requirements
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in data Analytics, Statistics, Economics, or related field (preferred but not mandatory if proven experience exists).
- Minimum 5 years' experience in data analysis, preferably within telecoms, FMCG, or financial services.
- Advanced proficiency in SQL, Python or similar for data extraction and analysis.
- Strong ability to design dashboards and reports in BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Qlik).
- Knowledge of telecom acquisition metrics (activations, inflow ARPU, CIB incentives, SIM-to-revenue conversion).
- Strong grasp of data governance and compliance in customer acquisition environments (KYC, fraud detection).
- Ability to perform statistical analysis, segmentation, and funnel modelling.

Background
An implementation study on the dapivirine vaginal ring (DVR) was conducted in South Africa, Kenya, Zimbabwe, Lesotho, Uganda and Eswatini. The study generated quantitative data on uptake, adherence, and user experiences. We are seeking a qualified Biostatistician to support data analysis for an implementation study on the dapivirine vaginal ring, a long-acting biomedical HIV prevention method. The consultant will analyze quantitative data on uptake, adherence, and user experiences, producing report and publication-ready results to inform regulatory, policy and programmatic decisions.
Scope of Work
· Review study protocol, objectives, and datasets.
· Develop and finalize a statistical analysis plan (SAP).
· Clean and merge datasets
· Conduct appropriate statistical analyses, including descriptive, inferential, and multivariable analyses
· Provide guidance on data quality, management, and handling of missing data.
· Generate report and publication-ready tables, figures, and outputs.
· Contribute to interpretation of findings and drafting of results sections for reports and manuscripts.
· Participate in virtual meetings with the study team as needed.
Deliverables
· Finalize statistical analysis plan.
· Clean and merge datasets
· Write reproducible code (Stata/R/SAS preferred) and conduct appropriate statistical analyses.
