Roles and Responsibilities
- Lead the team in preparation and cooking for events of between 25 and 200 people - food must be delicious, on time, and well-portioned.
- Ensure that the kitchen and service areas remain clean, safe and compliant.
- Manage kitchen staff, rostering, and oversee daily operations
- Order and manage stock of food supplies
- Maintain recipe database and costing lists for all meals
- Ensure deep cleaning of specific areas in the kitchen, e.g., floors, fridges, etc.
- Report any team issues to the operations manager, and any maintenance issues to the facilities supervisor
Qualifications And Requirements
- Proven experience in a senior kitchen role
- Honest, trustworthy, and responsible with strong leadership qualities
- Strong knowledge of food preparation, hygiene and safety standards
- Organisational skills for menu planning, portion control and stock management
- Computer competency (Microsoft Excel, Word, phone apps - for maintaining menus, recipes and databases
