In this role, you will be at the heart of financial decision-making, analysing and managing costs across production processes. Youll collaborate with cross-functional teamsproduction, purchasing, and managementto ensure accurate financial data that drives business success
Key Responsibilities
Investigate and correct material over/under recoveries and abnormal cost increases
Prepare manufacturing cost centre budgets and forecasts; calculate recovery rates
Process and reconcile weekly/monthly wages accurately and on time
Ensure accurate reporting of inventory balances and compliance with valuation policies
Analyse product profitability, bill of materials, and machine rate calculations
Report on purchase price and labour variances; recommend improvements
Accrue and analyse freight and clearing costs, review warranty provisions
Reconcile key balance sheet accounts and drive process improvements
Support month-end closing, capital expenditure requests, and audit activities
Prepare management reports for Manco & Opsco
Monitor cycle count programs and support physical inventory counts
Ensure compliance with QMS standards
What you bring:
Qualifications:
Com Accounting or equivalent
Studying towards or CIMA qualified (advantageous)
Experience:
Minimum 10+ years in Cost Accounting
Exposure to global monthly/quarterly reporting (advantageous)
Strong understanding of cost accounting principles and manufacturing processes
Experience with budgeting and forecasting
Character:
Detail-oriented, analytical thinker, proactive problem-solver.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Technical Skills:
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (strong Excel skills).
Ability to analyse large datasets; familiarity with Power Query, Power BI, etc.
