Our client, a leading Manufacturing company based in Umhlanga, is looking to fill the position of Controlling Manager.

Purpose of the Role:

As a Controlling Manager, your primary focus will be overseeing and analyzing the cost expenditures and purchases within the company. Key Responsibilities:

1. Developing and maintaining robust cost accounting systems to meticulously track and analyse company expenditures.
2. Ensuring accurate recording and updating of purchasing data, encompassing both existing and new materials and goods.
3. Conducting thorough analyses of purchasing data to identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend financially feasible options.
4. Facilitating internal cost audits and collaborating on general ledger preparation to ensure financial accuracy and compliance.
5. Presenting crucial financial information and cost estimates to management, aiding in strategic decision-making processes.
6. Upholding compliance with accounting principles, legal regulations, and company policies to maintain financial integrity.
7. Actively drive team efforts towards achieving financial integrity and collaborative success.

Qualifications and Experience:

1. Grade 12 Senior Certificate.
2. A Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, with a preference for 2-3 years of prior experience in accounting or bookkeeping.
3. Proficiency in SAP CO and FI, Advanced Excel, and Quantrix Software to effectively manage and analyse financial data.
4. Understanding of operations and SHE principles, within the manufacturing or mining Industries.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze business requirements and translate them into effective SAP FICO solutions.
• Configure and customize SAP FI (General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Asset Accounting) and CO (Cost Center Accounting, Profit Center Accounting, Internal Orders, etc.) modules.
• Integrate SAP FICO with other SAP modules such as MM, SD, PP, and HR to support end-to-end business processes.
• Conduct system testing, support UAT (User Acceptance Testing), and manage troubleshooting and performance tuning.
• Provide ongoing user training and support, including creation of user manuals and training sessions.
• Maintain detailed technical and functional documentation for all system changes and enhancements.
• Collaborate with finance teams to optimize financial reporting, compliance, and internal control processes.
• Support critical business activities such as month-end and year-end financial closings and financial audits.
  
  

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong hands-on experience with SAP FI and CO modules in both implementation and support environments.
• In-depth understanding of financial accounting and controlling principles and how they map to SAP.
• Experience with SAP ECC and/or S/4HANA platforms.
• Skilled in SAP configuration, testing, issue resolution, and change management.
• Proven ability to design and deliver integrated SAP solutions that meet business needs.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective stakeholder interaction and training delivery.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Technology, or a related field.

ERP Systems in Manufacturing Contexts: Experience with manufacturing-focused ERP systems (e.g., SAP PP/MM, Oracle Manufacturing, Syspro). Operational Performance Metrics: Understanding of manufacturing KPIs such as OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness), yield, scrap rates, and throughput. Inventory and Supply Chain Finance: Experience in managing and analysing inventory levels, working capital, and supply chain cost drivers. Capex Project Evaluation in Industrial Settings: Exposure to evaluating capital investments in machinery, plant upgrades, or automation projects. Special requirement(s): Willingness to work overtime.
