Senwes Grainlink is seeking a General Worker to help with various tasks, including general cleaning to maintain hygiene standards and other duties as per the silo's requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Execute general cleaning functions of the yard, bins, containers, silo, building and bunkers.
• Contact spraying for pest control in silo bins, machines and buildings.
• Assist with bin and storage fumigation.
• Bagging, storage and monitor graded screenings.
• Loading and off-loading of grain (bulk and bags).
• Assist with maintenance work.

• No experience required.
• Grade 10 (Candidates with a National Senior Certificate will receive preference)
• Great communication skills.
• Basic knowledge of grain industry.

PURPOSE 

• To ensure that all planned operational targets for deposition of tailings are met as per contractual obligation in time and good quality.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work with team leader / supervisor to achieve planned operational targets.
• Perform inspections on designated area of responsibility every day.
• Planning and managing of tailings material on site and at depositing areas.
• Assist with the problems solving on operational challenges and report any deviations to the immediate supervisor.
• Adhering to discipline procedures in accordance with the Company’s Policies and Procedures.
li>Adhere to all safety rules and regulations as per all safety legislation and company procedures.
• Extension and connecting of pipelines.
• Opening and closing of valves in line with operational lines
• Take responsibility for your performance
• Ensure good housekeeping at all times

QUALIFICATIONS

• Grade 12 or Equivalent

EXPERIENCE

• 0 – 2 years relevant experience in an earth moving or familiar environment

REQUIREMENTS

• Tailings Dam Operation background / experience in the mining or related industry for at least 2 years will be advantageous

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

• Must be able to understand the relevant standard operating procedures.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The job involves the essential tasks of preparing, managing, and maintaining the various stages of plant cultivation, from seed sowing and seedling management to transplanting, emasculation, crossing, harvesting, seed processing, greenhouse cleaning, trial harvesting, and other related activities, ensuring the successful growth and development of plants for seed production.

• Seed counting and packaging
• Soaking, washing and drying seedling trays
• preparing seedling mix for seedling tray filling
• Tray filling with seedling mix
• Sowing according to the sowing list
• Moving seedling trays from germ room to seedling house after 72 hrs of sowing and putting in order
• Watering seedlings manually when it is required
• preparing seedling mix for planting pots
• Filling of planting pots with seedling mix
• moving in filled pots and arranging them in the greenhouses
• Connecting drippers to the pots
• Moving seedlings from seedling house to greenhouses and field
• Making planting holes in the field
• Transplanting
• Preparing ropes for trellising and connecting them to the cables and then to the plants
