The successful candidate will be responsible for accurately estimating the cost of construction projects and providing timely and competitive bids to clients.
Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to determine the scope of work and materials required.
- Prepare accurate cost estimates for labor, materials, and equipment.
- Develop competitive bid proposals for construction projects.
- Work closely with project managers, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure accurate and timely bids.
- Monitor and update cost estimates throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements:
- Relevant Site Construction experience is needed.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Construction Estimator in the construction industry.
- Proficiency in construction estimating software such as Bluebeam, Procore, or RSMeans.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry standards.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Professional certification (e.g. Certified Professional Estimator) is a plus.

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Construction Estimator to join our team remotely. This role focuses on takeoffs, pricing, and procurement coordination for large-scale tile and stone projects. The ideal candidate will work closely with the internal team and trusted vendors—but will not be responsible for direct sales or GC-facing communication.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform detailed quantity takeoffs from architectural drawings and specifications using eTakeoff (similar to most on-screen takeoff programs)
- Prepare labor and material cost estimates based on current market pricing
- Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to obtain accurate pricing and lead times
- Collaborate with BK’s internal project managers, estimators and procurement team
- Support internal bid strategy without external sales responsibilities
- 5+ years of experience in estimating tile and stone scopes (commercial or residential)
- Strong understanding of installation methods, labor rates, and material logistics
- Proficiency with digital takeoff software (e.g., eTakeoff, On-Screen Takeoff, Measure Square or similar)

Job Description
Top engineering firm seeks boiler construction estimator. Estimate boiler parts and labour pricing for boiler construction and refurbishment.
Non-Negotiables (We will check)
- Analytical (Problem Solver) – Self Starter, independent worker. Driven by deliverables.

- Ethical – Business (Clear criminal and credit check – position involves financial accountability)
- Team Player
- Must have 3 -5 years experience specifically constructing and maintaining boilers. Very strong preference for a qualified boilermaker. Or equivalent experience.
- In depth knowledge of the components in boilers (pref : water tube boilers)
- Experience in leading and preparing bids and tenders (pref 2+ years)
- Excellent planning and coordination skills
What the person must be able to do :
This role is in the South African industrial sector. All duties would take place in this context.
Estimation of new boiler designs and refurbishments :
- Read and understand technical drawings
- Create and Price Bills of Quantities
- Labour and Resource Estimation
- Manage Margins
- Manage Subcontractors, Request for Quotes, Work Completion and Quality
- Use estimating software such as Candy Estimating
- Lead and prepare bids and tenders
- Take a leading role in new tenders and bid for new projects
Background work experience
- 3-5 years experience in specifically constructing and maintaining boilers or equivalent
- Very strong preference for a qualified boilermaker
- Strong preference for experience in water tube boilers
- BSc, BEng, T4, BTech or S4 in Mechanical Engineering
- Proven track record in boiler construction and maintenance (we will check references)
- 2+ years experience in boiler estimating and bid completion or closely equivalent
- Project management experience strongly advantageous
- Strong interpersonal skills and team player
- Strong preference : Persuasive charming personality

Duties & ResponsibilitiesWe are currently looking for Quantity Surveyors to manage the financial and commercial aspects of some of our Residential sites.
Desired Experience & QualificationThe successful candidate will have:
- A BSc/BTech in Quantity Surveying. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in the Residential Property Industry.
- Minimum of 3 years experience in Quantity Surveying within the Building & Construction industry.
- Minimum of 3 years experience with the following programs:
- Candy or any other CCS (Construction Costing Software) - Non-negotiable
- QTO or Cost X
