Icebolethu Group is looking for an objective Network Technician. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing network systems, whilst ensuring the smooth operations of IT and Communication networks within the organization as well as the day-to-day Helpdesk support. The role will be based at our Offices at No.: 225 uMbilo Road, Durban.
Qualifications, Experience & CompetenciesMinimum Qualifications:
- A+ & N+ Certification.
- National Diploma / Degree in Information Communication Technology or related field.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Minimum of 3 to 5 Years of Proven Network Experience.
- Proven experience with basic network device configuration (routers and switches).
- Strong understanding of fundamental networking concepts i.e. LAN, WAN, TCP/IP, routing, switching, and subnet addressing.
- Knowledge of network security protocols and best practices.
- Proven experience as a network technician or relevant position.
- Outstanding diagnostic, problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Good communication skills.
- Good knowledge of LAN/WAN networks, TCP/IP protocols and network technologies.
- Hands-on experience with common software and hardware.
Network Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
- Respond to maintenance requests related to network defects and issues.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot problems with network systems by running tests.
- Maintain an inventory of computer hardware and network components.
- Maintenance of Security Systems for Data, Network and all ICT Infrastructure.
- Installation and maintenance of structured Local Area Network for both New and existing sites.
- Monitor and Manage Branch Network Connections.
- Participate in the Modernization of internet connection at all branches.
- Responsible for network security oversight.
- Design and install well-functioning computer networks, including connections and cabling.
- Configure software settings and ensure proper network functionality.
- Participate in the Setting up and management of Wireless network.
- Operating System installation and Configuration.
- Keep abreast of latest network trends.
- Participate in the SDWAN Provisioning.
- Work closely with the IT department to build and maintain local area networks (LANs) and wireless networks.
- Provide customer service support and troubleshooting for clients.
- Collaborate with third-party engineers when technical dialogue is required.
- Manage the Telephone System.
- Ensure that all ICT policies and procedures are adhered to by using ICT Resources at all levels.
