Qualification:

Experience:
- A minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience after a Master's level in an institute of higher education, OR five (5) years of professional industrial experience (Lecturer).
Skills & Criteria:
- In-depth expertise in IoT systems, computer networks, systems development, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity.
- Eligibility for ECSA registration (compulsory for candidates with foreign qualifications).
- Knowledge of computer clusters, parallel systems, and high-performance computing (HPC).
- Strong communication skills, both written (report writing) and verbal.
- Proficiency in engineering software packages such as MATLAB and Proteus.
- Competence in microcontroller project development and prototyping (e.g. ESP32, Arduino, Raspberry Pi).

About The Role/Team
At Capitec, our Systems Analysts are instrumental in bridging the gap between business and technology. You'll be part of a collaborative, cross-functional team that supports multiple areas of the bank - with a specific focus in this role on the insurance business unit. This team plays a vital role in enabling accurate data flows, enhancing financial sub-ledgers, and supporting operational and regulatory reporting.
This role focuses on understanding insurance-related data, gathering business and technical requirements, and working closely with the data engineering team to translate these into actionable solutions. You will play a key part in ensuring that Capitec's insurance data is accessible, accurate, and aligned with business needs.
A successful candidate must bring prior experience in the insurance domain, with the ability to independently query SQL and engage confidently with business and technical stakeholders
What You'll Be Doing
- Analyse insurance data, systems, and processes to extract and interpret requirements.
- Gather, document, and validate functional and technical requirements from the insurance team.
- Provide clear, structured input to the data engineer, enabling the development of accurate data pipelines and reporting solutions.
- Collaborate closely with stakeholders across insurance, data, product, and compliance functions
- Support the delivery of end-to-end solutions, ensuring alignment with governance, data quality, and regulatory expectations.
- Contribute to system testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), and solution validation.
- Assist in resolving data-related issues by identifying root causes and recommending improvements.

Preferred Qualifications And Experience Include
