QUALIFICATIONS
- 7+ years of experience inglobal compensation, including managing and executing compensation programs in complex, international environments.
- Demonstrated expertise in tracking and managingcompensation program costs and aligning rewards strategy with financial goals.
- Strong knowledge of global compensation practices, compliance requirements, and evolving market trends.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives with operational rigor and strong stakeholder collaboration.
- Strategic mindset with ahands-on, solution-oriented approach.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex data and concepts into actionable insights for business leaders.
- Proficiency with compensation tools and platforms (e.g. HRIS).

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Functional Consultant – SAP SuccessFactors Compensation to lead the implementation and optimization of global and local compensation processes within the SAP SuccessFactors suite. As part of a broader HR transformation program, the role will ensure compensation system design aligns with business strategy, HR policies, and operational requirements, while providing hands-on configuration expertise and functional leadership across all project phase
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, configuration, and implementation of SAP SuccessFactors Compensation module.
- Deliver end-to-end consulting across core compensation functions, including:
- Compensation Planning
- Bonus and Incentive Plans
- Eligibility Rules
- Compensation Guidelines and Cycles
- Collaborate with HR, IT, and business stakeholders to align system design with compensation policies and global HR strategies.
- Configure compensation templates, business rules, budgets, and workflow approvals.
- Integrate Compensation with SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central and relevant downstream HR systems.
- Produce high-quality functional documentation, including business requirement documents, configuration specs, and test scripts.
- Support unit testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), and training delivery to end users and HR teams.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of SAP SuccessFactors Compensation through regular Delta certifications and product updates.
- Advise on best practices for compensation planning in multi-country and compliance-driven environments.
- Provide input and solution design recommendations related to Variable Pay, where applicable.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as a SAP SuccessFactors Compensation Functional Consultant.
- Successfully delivered at least 4 full-cycle SAP SuccessFactors Compensation implementations.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience with:
- Compensation Planning and Bonus Structures
- Eligibility Rules and Budget Guidelines
- Templates, business rules, and workflows
- Strong understanding of compensation cycle management and HR business alignment.

- Serve as the key custodian of employee benefits — including medical aid, retirement funds, wellness, and related third-party provider management.
- Support remuneration governance by preparing submissions and insights for the REMCO and board.
- Collaborate with finance and HR leadership on labour cost analysis, budget forecasting, and merit cycle implementation.
- Partner with service providers and finance teams on STI

Ideal Candidate:
- 8–12 years’ experience in Compensation & Benefits / Total Rewards, with a blend of strategic and operational expertise.
- Proven ability to work with job evaluation systems (e.g. Paterson, Hay, or equivalent).
- Strong working knowledge of payroll systems, HRIS, and HR analytics.
- Demonstrated experience engaging with Bargaining Councils, interpreting collective agreements, and managing C&B implications.
- Familiarity with South African labour law, tax, and governance requirements.

- Post Graduate qualification, an added advantage.

- Minimum 3 years as a Payroll or Remuneration or Compensation & Benefits Manager.
- Information Management System i.e. SAP HR Module / Oracle. Advanced Excel.

Report to the HR Operations Executive:
- Develop and implement compensation strategies and structures.

- Conduct regular surveys and market research to ensure competitive compensation practices.

- Prepare relevant compensation and benefits reports for Executive Management, Board Committees and the Board of Directors.
- Collaborate with the HR Executive to prepare written submissions for the approval of the Executive Committee and or the Board Committees.
- Roll out benefits initiatives across the company and provide education and training on various types of benefits to Managers and employees.
- Manage all Payroll activities, establishing appropriate checks and balances to ensure on-time payment, compliance, and accuracy.
- Ensure smooth running of the administration of benefits.
- Manage payroll processes, salary reviews and incentive schemes.Â
- Responsible for the integrity of data on the HR Management Information system.
- Ensure consistency in the application of Human Resource policies, benefits and guidelines.
- Manage the preparation of the Groupâ nnual workforce and salary budget including the evaluation of the need for new positions and the total remuneration cost and submission thereof.
- Provide support for the review of personnel request to ensure that additional staff or change requests are justified in accordance with budgets, structure and business principles in compliance with organisation design principles.
- Manage and oversee administration of the groupâ leave management, time and attendance processes, and retirement benefits.
- Execute reconciliations to provident/retirement fund, submit UIF returns, administer all tax affairs related to payroll, prepare bi-annual PAYE returns and prepare and reconcile 3rd party payments.
- Liaise with IT on SAP notes and upgrades related to payroll.
- Assist Auditors with internal, external, and SHEQ audits.
- Ensure good governance and audit protocols are followed by ensuring appropriate controls are in place, processes and procedures are documented and reviewed regularly; and that the highest standards of accuracy and rigour are maintained.

What you'll be doing
The Executive Compensation Lead will be responsible for support & execution of executive compensation programs across NTT DATA Inc. This role requires a deep understanding of executive compensation practices and market trends to ensure competitive and equitable compensation packages for senior executives. The ideal candidate should have experience in designing and managing Short-Term Incentive (STI) and Long-Term Incentive (LTI) plans, aimed at effectively motivating and retaining top executive talent. Additionally, the candidate must be detail-oriented, analytical, and confident in presenting proposals to senior leaders to secure alignment before they are presented by the senior leadership to the NTT Data Group or other stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program Design & Strategy
- Provide data needed to design and implement executive compensation programs that align with business strategy, drive performance, and support talent objectives.
- Conduct executive benchmarking and pay-for-performance analyses using external data sources (e.g., Radford, Mercer, etc.) to inform program design and ensure competitiveness.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to design and approve compensation plans.
- Evaluate executive job levels, titles, and compensation to ensure internal equity and market alignment.
- Leadership Communications & Buy-In
- Create and have the ability to present clear, data-driven materials to senior leadership that support decision-making and drive alignment on executive compensation proposals.
- Draft talking points, executive summaries, and FAQs to use in conversations with executives.
- Translate complex compensation topics into clear, business-oriented language that enables informed discussion and buy-in.
- Support the development of any relevant materials and related tables, charts and exhibits.
- Manage executive compensation-related communications and disclosures.
- Governance & Compliance
- Manage governance in support of executive compensation
- Prepare high-quality materials and documentation for approval meetings.
- Maintain strict compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and governance best practices.
- Executive Data & Record Management
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of executive employment terms, compensation arrangements, and contracts.
- Create and manage executive summaries of employment terms and changes for internal reference and compliance tracking.
- Partner with Legal, HR, and Finance to ensure accurate and secure management of sensitive executive data.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Serve as a key point of contact for executive compensation matters, working closely with People & Culture Business Partners, Legal, Finance, and others.
- Manage ad hoc analyses, special projects, and confidential initiatives as needed.
Experience, Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
