Advise and educate, leaders, Human Resource Business Partners and Talent Acquisition Partners in-cycle and out-of-cycle about our compensation programs and philosophy balancing all levers in compensation including base pay, variable/incentive pay. 3. Leverage analytics to stay on top of internal trends, relevant pay legislation and competitive market intelligence, anticipating and navigating the potential impact to our pay philosophy, benchmarks and practices. 4. Works with managers to conduct job analysis, market analysis, pay reviews and develop compensation recommendations and costing. 5. Develops and fosters trusting relationships with all levels of management for assigned business areas to gain support for initiatives and achieve results. Meets periodically to review market analysis reports. Assists in the development of reports and scorecards that will be meaningful and actionable to the department and service line leaders and managers. 6. Handle issues with typically large scope, higher levels of complexity, sensitivity and/or visibility with the organization. Encourage others to take a strategic approach to solving compensation issues as opposed to simply responding to the current situation. Serve as a resource to explain compensation policy and systems. Provide training on compensation related programs. 7. Assist and provide analysis to determine feasibility for union negotiations. Collaborates with members of the finance department to ensure the validity of models used to cost-out proposals. May participate in union-management contract negotiations. 8. Work collaboratively with Human Resources and operations leaders on projects. May be asked to lead team or represent Compensation on system wide initiatives. Serve on committees as necessary as the compensation subject matter expert. 9. Work in collaboration with leadership to develop and implement uniform compensation practices (such as policies, procedures and guidelines). Analyze salary survey results to ensure current pay practices are cost effective and market competitive. Evaluate market and economic trends. 10. Conduct the job evaluation process, consult with Human Resource Business Partners and managers who are creating or revising positions to develop job descriptions that meet internal standards and that reflect actual essential functions and minimum requirements.   • To manage exception reporting based on variance methodology to ensure that all changes have been approved and validated

  • To manage statutory and benefit contributions and ensure that the payments and schedules are submitted as per SLA and legislation
  • To manage annual and bi-annual statutory reconciliation as prescribed by SARS (easyFile, efiling, Ufile), SRA, NLR and BURS
  • To manage annual, monthly and daily payroll calendar deadlines and ensure that all deadlines are met
  • To manage compliancy which relates to Company Policies and Procedures

Customer Service

  • To carry out customer satisfaction surveys to measure service delivery

People Management

  • To manage the division and carry out all people management activities

As a Payroll, Compensation and Benefits Manager, you would possess the following skills and experience:

  • Relevant tertiary degree
  • 10+ years business related experience.
  • At least 5 years should be management experience especially working with others across business streams
  • Extensive knowledge of benefits and compensation programs, policies, procedures, and applicable legislation
  • Certification as a payroll practitioner/ rewards specialist would be preferred.
  • Experience and advanced knowledge of SAP payroll system.

Your Responsibilities Will Include but Are Not Limited To:

  • Supporting attorneys with case management, including scheduling, documentation, and follow-ups
  • Posting to social media pages and preparing a Mailchimp email to clients once a month

The Global Compensation Lead will lead the development and execution of our global total rewards programs and processes. This role is central to ensuring our compensation strategies are globally scalable, locally adaptable, and fully aligned with our enterprise-wide guidelines, compensation principles, and business timelines.

What You'll Be Doing

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the planning and execution of global compensation processes, including annual salary planning, incentive planning, LTIP Planning benchmarking, pay governance, job architecture, and global pay programs.
  • Ensure compensation solutions are scalable across regions, aligned with global strategies, and adaptable to local legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Partner with regional and country Total Rewards leaders with their People & Culture business partners to co-create compensation solutions that balance global consistency with local relevance and business needs.
  • Actively track and manage compensation-related costs globally, ensuring programs are cost-effective and aligned with budget expectations.
  • Develop scalable, globally aligned compensation strategies that support the business in attracting, retaining, and motivating talent, while adhering to our compensation guiding principles.
  • Identify and drive process improvement opportunities to simplify compensation practices and enhance the manager and employee experience.
  • Support enterprise-wide transformation by ensuring consistent compensation frameworks post-M&A, helping unify legacy organizations under a common structure.
  • Develop and maintain clear, user-friendly communications, training materials, and documentation to support effective program understanding and adoption.
  • Monitor global market trends, pay equity practices, and regulatory changes to inform program design and enhancements.
  • Craft market intelligence and insights that equip the Total Rewards Partners and People & Culture Business Partners with global as well as local trends and competitor practices
  • Collaborate with HRIS, Finance, and other partners to ensure systems and processes enable accurate, timely, and efficient program delivery.

  • 7+ years of experience in global compensation, including managing and executing compensation programs in complex, international environments.

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Functional Consultant – SAP SuccessFactors Compensation to lead the implementation and optimization of global and local compensation processes within the SAP SuccessFactors suite. As part of a broader HR transformation program, the role will ensure compensation system design aligns with business strategy, HR policies, and operational requirements, while providing hands-on configuration expertise and functional leadership across all project phase

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, configuration, and implementation of SAP SuccessFactors Compensation module.
  • Deliver end-to-end consulting across core compensation functions, including:
    • Compensation Planning
    • Bonus and Incentive Plans
    • Eligibility Rules
    • Compensation Guidelines and Cycles
  • Collaborate with HR, IT, and business stakeholders to align system design with compensation policies and global HR strategies.
  • Configure compensation templates, business rules, budgets, and workflow approvals.
  • Integrate Compensation with SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central and relevant downstream HR systems.
  • Produce high-quality functional documentation, including business requirement documents, configuration specs, and test scripts.
  • Support unit testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), and training delivery to end users and HR teams.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of SAP SuccessFactors Compensation through regular Delta certifications and product updates.
  • Advise on best practices for compensation planning in multi-country and compliance-driven environments.
  • Provide input and solution design recommendations related to Variable Pay, where applicable.
Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as a SAP SuccessFactors Compensation Functional Consultant.
  • Successfully delivered at least 4 full-cycle SAP SuccessFactors Compensation implementations.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience with:
    • Compensation Planning and Bonus Structures
    • Eligibility Rules and Budget Guidelines
    • Templates, business rules, and workflows
  • Strong understanding of compensation cycle management and HR business alignment.
  • Ability to gather and translate business requirements into scalable configuration solutions.
  • Skilled in functional documentation, test support, and user training.
Certifications (Required)

  • SAP Certified Application Associate – SAP SuccessFactors Compensation
  • Must also hold the latest Delta Certification to reflect knowledge of current releases and features.

Desirable Skills

  • Exposure to Variable Pay configuration and process integration.
  • Experience working in global enterprise environments with diverse regulatory and compensation frameworks.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage across business and technical teams.
  • Familiarity with Agile delivery models and collaboration tools such as JIRA or Confluence.

Job Summary

The Compensation Advisor will participate in the design, development, implementation, and administering of the compensation programs that attract, retain, and motivate top talent while ensuring internal equity and external competitiveness. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of compensation practices in the oil and gas industry and be comfortable working in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment. They will report to the Manager, Human Resources.

The Compensation Advisor will work in our Houston Corporate office and may work two (2) days a week remote.

Responsibilities

  • Support the design, analysis, and administration of base salary structures, incentive programs, and other compensation initiatives
  • Participate in job evaluations, job leveling, and titling to ensure consistency across the organization
  • Prepare compensation proposal for external hires, internal promotions
  • Provide ongoing consultation and subject-matter expertise to HR Business Partners, including compensation-related policies, programs, practices and administration
  • Conduct global market benchmarking and salary surveys, including analysis, reporting and program recommendations
  • Lead the company-wide annual compensation review including the development of the compensation review planning calendar, training and communication materials
  • Prepare compensation analytics, reports, and presentations for senior leadership
  • Represent Murphy at industry peer groups and continually monitor external competitive practices, policy changes, and benchmarks through independent research and networking with peers
  • Lead specific compensation projects and initiatives as required. These will vary in size, scope and duration and may be individual or team based
  • Develop communication materials to enhance awareness and understanding of compensation initiatives with HR Business Partners and line leaders

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Business, Human Resources, or another related field
  • Minimum 19 years’ experience in HR with minimum 10 years’ experience in direct compensation
  • Background in interpretation and statistical analysis of data
  • Highly skilled with Excel (e.g., working knowledge: XLOOKUP’s, nested functions, pivot tables charts/ graphs, etc.) and other MS Office programs and adept at data clean up
  • Experience with benchmarking, compensation cycles, job codes and classifications
  • Experience with salary survey participation including data audits, validation, benchmarking and recommending additional compensation data sources

Desired/Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with SuccessFactors and SAP preferred
  • Experience in the upstream oil and gas industry preferred

The individual is required to follow all applicable safety precautions. Work is performed almost entirely in a controlled (i.e., inside) environment and does not typically subject the incumbent to any hazardous/extreme elements; some positions may require regularly moving or transporting items weighing up to 25 lbs. around the office for various needs. The successful candidate must be able to complete all essential physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
