Main Purpose of JobTo attend to emergency calls and provide basic medical care within the scope of practice.
Key Responsibility Areas- Ensure operational readiness for emergency calls
- Administer patient care in line with scope of practice
- Maintain a positive public image for ER24
- Essential: Basic Ambulance Assistant Certificate
- Desired: Completion of training related to Clinical Practice Guidelines published by the Health Professions Council of South Africa. If not compliant at the time of application, completion during probation is required if successful.
- Essential: 6 months to 1 year of road BLS experience
- Desired: 2 years of road BLS experience
- Knowledge of facilities, routes, and demographics
- Understanding of HPCSA guidelines and scope of practice
- Application of best practices in EMS environment
- Proficiency in English (written and verbal)
- Experience with Patient Report Forms
