Stormers Rugby is a Cape Town's premier rugby club that manages the DHL Stormers, DHL Western Province, DHL Western Province Under-21 and DHL Western Province Under-19 professional rugby teams.
The DHL Stormers, the club's elite senior men's team, who have been playing on a global stage for almost 30 years and currently compete in the Vodacom United Rugby Championship and Investec Champions Cup.

The purpose of the role
As Digital Community Coordinator, you'll sit in the Commercial/Marketing team and report to the Communications Manager. Your focus is execution: helping plan and publish content, engaging with fans, supporting matchday coverage, and ensuring sponsor and stakeholder content goes out on time and on brand. You'll collaborate closely with designers, videographers, agencies, players, and coaches to bring the club's personality to life across our channels.
Responsibilities
Content strategy and planning
: working in collaboration with the Communications Manager, the Digital Community Coordinator will be responsible for developing a strategic plan for content that will engage fans and promote the team, upcoming matches and the brand/s holistically.
Agency briefing and management
: working closely with design and production agencies to develop relevant content for the various owned platforms.
Managing the roll-out
:
Ensuring that content is posted timeously across various platforms and posting content on websites and social media, in line with the monthly plans.
Community management
: engaging and responding with the fanbase online and taking on the 'voice' of the brand and team.
Production support:
Managing and attending shoots relating to coverage of all professional teams. Working with players and coaches, you'll be working to bring the brand and team closer to the fanbase.
Event & matchday support:
Assisting with events and matchday marketing functions which will include working regularly on weekends.
Partner rights delivery:
Working with sponsors and various stakeholders to ensure delivery of rights in the digital space.
Typical channels you'll touch: Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, X, Website, and email—focusing effort where content performs best.
Qualifications and experience
A tertiary qualification focused on marketing/communications or content creation and strategy.
Experience in digital marketing and social media
Experience working in a similar position within sport and/or agency for 1-2 years.
Passion for the brand and team.
Writing and editing skills beneficial.
