The Role: Clinical Associate
This role focuses on supporting digital health solutions, empowering members, and driving better health outcomes. You will collaborate with clinical teams and coaches to ensure high-quality care, innovation, and exceptional service delivery across digital platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Educate and support coaches on health indicators and chronic condition monitoring

• Serve as a key contact for coaches and members, ensuring engagement and motivation

• Monitor onboarding and usage of digital health platforms, including coaching, education, and telehealth

• Track member engagement, flag challenges, and support continuous quality improvement

• Assist in developing health education content, workshops, and materials

• Coordinate rosters, performance reviews, and data reporting processes

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB
The Clinical Facilitator plans and facilitates identified training and development interventions to ensure competency of all staff. They can be allocated to a specialist unit (e.g. the ICU) or work across the nursing units of a hospital.

Required Education

Reports to the Nursing Services Manager

• Responsible for the facilitation of teaching and learning of the theoretical and clinical component in a clinical setting

• Integral part of the Critical Care team with the primary focus of bed side teaching through demonstration, job shadowing, role modelling mentoring and guidance at the bedside of all processes

• The integration and mitigation of risk management at the bedside will be a primary objective to reduce risk to the group and improve patient outcomes

• Provide services for both the in-service and formal clinical training programs through the coordination of learning opportunities, at both the formal and informal level

• Support evidence-based practice by encouraging participation in research.

• The Clinical Facilitator will play an integral role in the upskilling of staff to use equipment, ethical and consumables safely in accordance safely in accordance with the manufacturer's guidelines.

• Assess staff competence according to Groups standards and protocols

• Plan, prepare, implement, and manage the education and training requirements of new employees and rerouted staff

• Design and implement CPD program

• Support and facilitate staff and students to reach specific learning objectives

• Current registration with SANC as a Registered General Nurse or equivalent qualification.

• Postgraduate diploma in Medical/Surgical Nursing: General or equivalent as accredited by SANC

• 5 years proven work experience in a multi-disciplinary Intensive Care Unit including Cardio Thoracic, Neurosurgery, Vascular, General Surgery and Medical is essential.

• Postgraduate diploma in Nursing Education or equivalent as accredited by SANC

• Assessorship certified

• A working knowledge of Trauma, Midwifery and Paediatrics

Compilation of patient files to ensure that all relevant documents including documents on admission are in the file.

Auditing patient files to ensure that all stock including consignment stock and services i.e. surgical, ethical, equipment, oxygen, theatre gases and tariffs are billed by actual usage and within the NHN guide.

Auditing of patient files and verification of data i.e. Admission and Discharge Dates, membership options and dependent codes are correct. Daily Billing of Oxygen, Modifiers and Ventilators.

Auditing of long stay In Patients Auditing of patient files to ensure that billing is according to the NHN guide and Melomed Billings Policies and Procedures.

Ensuring that files are received and audited timeously and sent to the relevant departments to maintain the target of final billing files within 3 Days.

Following up and resolving queries to ensure that the targets are maintained.

Application of clinical knowledge in reviewing ICD and CPT coding of patient accounts. Compilation of reports for over and under billing.

Adherence to deadlines.

Administrative tasks.

Adhoc and administrative duties as requested by line Manager.

Filing.

Ability to stay abreast of industry trends and knowledge.

Keep up to date and compliance with Melomed's Policies and Procedures.

Core Competencies:

Education:
