Are you an organised and enthusiastic Science Lab Technician looking to play a vital role in a thriving secondary school?
A well-established and forward-thinking secondary school in Newham is seeking a dedicated Lab Technician to support the delivery of outstanding science education across Key Stages 3 to 5.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and set up equipment and materials for science practical lessons
Maintain laboratories, equipment, and chemical stock levels in line with health and safety regulations
Support teaching staff in delivering engaging and safe science experiments
Ensure proper disposal of waste and safe storage of hazardous materials
Assist in the organisation of science resources and displays
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Previous experience working in a school or laboratory environment (desirable but not essential)
A science-related qualification (A-level or higher preferred)
Good understanding of health and safety practices in a lab setting
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
A proactive, team-focused attitude with a willingness to learn

The Key Purpose of this role is to carry out sampling, sample preparation, and analysis of raw materials, in-process samples of brewing product from Brew house, Yeast & Fermentation, and Bright beer.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
- Sampling is carried out as per manualized methods.
- Relevant apparatus, equipment, and reagents are prepared as per manualized method.
- Analysis is performed using fundamental laboratory techniques and practices.
- Accurate results generated, recorded, and reported on time.
- Carry out lab equipment maintenance and calibration as per manualized methods.
- Comply with company safety policies and procedures (Hazardous substances, PPE, MSDS, Safety incidents, lab safety rules).
- Adhere to 5S and Housekeeping schedules.
- Conduct required and requested quality audits, completing the appropriate documentation and communicating the results.
- Coach, check, mentor, and assist shift-based production teams on problem-solving and correct use of problem-solving techniques.
- Participate in regional and divisional process optimization initiatives as required.

Our Client in the FMCG Industry is seeking to employ a Junior QC Lab Technician to their team based in Montague Gardens, Cape Town.
Requirements:
- Degree/Diploma in Chemistry, Food Science, Microbiology, Biochemistry is preferred.
- 0-2 years’ working experience in a lab environment.
- No Prior professional experience in a QC lab is required, but an understanding of basic laboratory techniques and safety procedure is essential.
- Food quality control, food processing control, food production.
- Food Safety Systems.
Responsibilities, but not limited to:
- Routine Testing: Perform various physical and chemical tests on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs); tests may include pH testing, viscosity measurements, and ingredient analysis.
- Data Entry and Documentation: Accurately record all test results and observations in laboratory test sheets and digital databases; manage the storage and control of retention samples.
- Equipment Maintenance: Conduct basic calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment to ensure consistent accuracy and reliability.
- Problem Identification: Immediately report any out-of-specification results or potential quality concerns to the supervisor; assist in troubleshooting production/process non-conformances, reworks, and customer complaints.
- Miscellaneous Tasks: Manage laboratory consumables and chemicals, ensure adherence to Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), and maintain good housekeeping standards.
