We are seeking a Product Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be instrumental in the strategic design, enhancement, and execution of our international product solutions, pricing structures, and platform capabilities . The ideal candidate will be highly autonomous and accountable, driving initiatives that meet the evolving needs of investors and advisors in South Africa and select international markets .
This is a collaborative position where you will work with various functions to ensure our offerings are competitive, compliant, and client-centric, supporting business growth and innovation .
Key ResponsibilitiesProduct Development : Contribute to the design, enhancement, and lifecycle management of platform products and capabilities . This includes evaluating solutions from a multidisciplinary perspective, including regulatory, compliance, risk, and financial viewpoints . You will also conduct in-depth research and market analysis on local and global platform trends to identify strategic opportunities for new product development or enhancements .
Client Engagement : Provide specialist product expertise and insights to financial advisers, clients, and internal stakeholders . You will act as a trusted partner, guiding strategic product conversations and resolving complex, product-related queries .
Content and Communication : Develop and refine content for product and platform communications, including marketing materials, digital content, industry thought-leadership pieces, and internal documentation . You will be responsible for translating complex product and regulatory information into clear, compelling content for various audiences .
Strategic Planning : Take ownership of translating strategic business initiatives into practical product and capability roadmaps . You will also prepare high-quality analysis and content to support governance and decision-making processes for various boards and committees .
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
A B.Com or a related degree is required .
A CFA designation or an actuarial background is essential due to the technical and analytical nature of the role .
You should have a
minimum of 5 years of experience in the financial services industry , specifically within the international LISP (Linked Investment Service Provider) or investment platform sector . This experience should include exposure to product development, pricing, platform strategy, or capability design .
You must have
comprehensive knowledge of the South African LISP landscape , including regulatory frameworks, tax implications, and competitive dynamics . Exposure to or experience in the offshore LISP market is also strongly preferred .
Demonstrated ability to
engage with and influence diverse internal and external stakeholders is a key requirement .
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interrogate data and integrate multiple perspectives, are necessary for shaping product strategies .
