With over 65 years of multidisciplinary consulting engineering and project management expertise, Ingerop South Africa is looking to appoint a proactive and driven CAD Draughtsman / Civil 3D Designer to join our dynamic Water and Civils team in Bellville, Cape Town. This is a permanent position offering the opportunity to work on impactful municipal infrastructure projects within a collaborative and experienced environment.
Areas of responsibility
The duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following tasks:
- Collaborating with Project Managers and Lead Engineers on all design drawings
- Producing engineering design deliverables in AutoCAD Civil 3D, including:
- Pipe networks, road alignments, long and cross sections, earthworks, surfaces, and corridor modelling
- Infrastructure layouts, general arrangements, and detailed sections in both 2D and 3D
- Creating and managing Civil 3D templates, styles, assemblies, alignments, and profiles
- Applying engineering principles and standards in the preparation of accurate and consistent drawings
- Coordinating with internal and external disciplines, responding to design changes, and issuing drawings for review or construction
- Supporting projects, including coordination, file management, and CAD standards adherence
- Working independently in a fast-paced, multi-project environment while maintaining quality and meeting deadlines
Education, Language & Qualifications
- National Senior Certificate (NSC) – Grade 12
- Autodesk certification (AutoCAD Civil 3D / Revit)
- Advantageous:
- N4/N5 Multi-Disciplinary Drawing Office Practice (MDDOP) National Certificate
- Certificate of Competency from a member college of the South African Institute of Draughting
Essential Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- 3–5 years' experience in the built environment
