The Internship at Our Clients`Organisation will allow the intern to be exposed to industry-leading technologies in the fields of Computer-Aided Design (CAD), Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), the Internet of Things (IoT) and Augmented Reality (AR).
A successful Intern will be in a prime position to apply for a permanent position at Our Clients Organisation or one of their local software users in Private and Parastatal Sectors.
INTERNSHIP REQUIREMENT
Our client seeks energetic and self-motivated interns to join their team, focused on gaining practical industry knowledge in Computer-Aided Design (CAD). Interns will assist experienced Application Engineers (AEs) in implementing and supporting Creo CAD software solutions, contributing to successful product design initiatives. The Intern will also develop software applications incorporating the emerging technical fields of Generative Design and Optimization, AI, AR and IOT.
PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Support existing Application Engineers in implementing and configuring Creo CAD software.
- Assist in product development process assessments (PDPA).
- Support customer adoption and software usage initiatives.
- Contribute to creating customer scope-of-work documentation (SOW).
- Assist with customer consulting engagements on or off-site.
- Provide support to the helpdesk team, shadowing senior support engineers.
- Participate actively in Proof-of-Concept (PoC) projects at customer locations.
KPA:
- Technical proficiency in CAD software
- Customer support and engagement

- Contribution to internal and customer project successes
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum:
- Qualification: Minimum NQF Level 7 (Bachelor’s degree or completing final year) in:
- Field 06 – Manufacturing, Engineering and Technology
- Field 10 – Physical, Mathematical, Computer and Life Sciences
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite.
- Basic understanding of engineering concepts and CAD principles.
Beneficial

- Prior exposure to CAD software (Creo preferred, or similar platforms).

The CAD Draughtsman, a key technical position within our team, is primarily responsible for creating detailed and accurate CAD designs that align with customer specifications and requirements. In addition to technical proficiency in CAD, the role involves conducting thorough testing and quality control of electrical panels. : Create precise and detailed electrical, instrument, and network drawings that meet specific customer requirements and specifications
3. Designing as per Afrilek's Standards
: Ensure all designs adhere to Afrilek's established standards, maintaining consistency and quality in all design outputs.
4. QCP Document Control
: Manage and update Quality Control Procedures (QCP) documents to ensure they are current and accurate.
5. Quality Control Inspections and Testing
: Conduct quality control inspections and testing of designs to ensure compliance with QC documents and industry standards

: Perform site tracing for existing panels to accurately capture and reflect the current state and layout in CAD drawings.
10. Sales and Client Engagement:
Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to grasp client needs and contribute to crafting bespoke project proposals. Engage in initial project meetings, provide expert advice, and assist in estimating project timelines and expenses.
11. Project Management Compliance:
Oversee projects, ensuring they conform to the project management standards established by the organization. Coordinate effectively with team members and subcontractors, ensuring adherence to project timelines.
12.Compliance (Risk) and Safety with Method Statements
: Guarantee strict adherence to industry standards, regulations, and safety guidelines throughout the design, implementation, and operational phases of automated systems. Execute comprehensive risk assessments, devise safety protocols, and promptly address safety concerns. Prepare and maintain detailed method statements for all procedures.

Areas of responsibility
