You will be a member of a growing corporation tax specialist team based in Cape Town focusing on providing pro-active corporation tax services to a wide range of UK clients operating in a variety of industry sectors, including owner managed businesses. The Role

Duties and responsibilities would include the following:

  • Managing the corporation tax compliance process for a portfolio of corporate clients including both standalone clients and groups;
  • Tax advisory to partners and clients
  • Identifying tax efficient opportunities for clients and liaising with partners on implementing those opportunities;
  • Responsible for managing billing and work in progress;
  • Team responsibilities including line management for junior staff and assisting in development, training and the appraisal process for sub team staff; and
  • Involvement in business development of the firm including attending networking events and opportunity to join a sector group.

Person Specification

  • Able to demonstrate good client focused skills, ability to work unsupervised, work within a team, influence and negotiate;

Work-Based Competencies

Job Summary

In this role, you will support the Indirect Tax Manager with management of the VAT/GST compliance cycle across multiple jurisdictions (UK, EU, ROW). What you will do

  • Ensuring the accurate and timely preparation and submission of complex monthly and quarterly UK and International VAT return, ESL, Intrastat and other statutory returns for all CDW operations.
  • Supporting transaction-level VAT analysis and identifying compliance risks.
  • Reconciliation of tax return calculations and payments to ERP system data.
  • Ensuring timely and accurate payment of all VAT liabilities in coordination with other finance teams (e.g. AP, Treasury).
