Job purpose: The Business Development Representative (Sales Rep) will work towards achieving growth in volumes sold, market share, and increased competitiveness by providing market-driven, differentiated service that builds sustainable competitiveness within clearly identified segments.
Key Roles And Responsibilities:
- Achieve sales targets for assigned areas
- Manage and supervise distributors in the assigned sector (orders, payments, re-distribution)
- Ensure IB products are available in reasonable stock (full range) at customer and retail outlets
- Ensure merchandising (brand visibility through POS and chillers) in outlets
- Ensure chillers are properly placed and used exclusively for IBPLC products in the assigned sector
- Monitor the recommended pricing of our products at sales outlets
- Closely monitor competitors' actions
Profile:

Role Overview
We’re looking for a high-energy, motivated Business Development Representative (BDR) to join our client’s fast-growing sales team. Key Responsibilities
- Make 150–200 calls per day to inbound leads, with a mix of cold inbound and demo requests.
- Prioritise and qualify leads quickly with a strong “speed to lead” mentality.
- Schedule 2+ qualified meetings per day (target: 50 per month).
- Execute multi-channel outreach: double-dialling, leaving voicemails, and leveraging LinkedIn/email touchpoints.
- Collaborate with Account Executives to ensure smooth handoffs and strong pipeline generation.
- Accurately track all activity and lead progress in HubSpot CRM .
- Maintain a positive, team-oriented approach in a fast-paced start-up environment.

- 3+ years of experience in a BDR, SDR, or sales support role (open to junior candidates with strong skills and the right mindset).
- Proven ability to handle high call volumes and convert leads into qualified meetings.

Description
The Business Development Representative (BDR) is responsible for identifying and creating new qualified opportunities for the sales team. This role manages outbound campaigns and inbound lead flow within their territory by qualifying and identifying critical decision makers to successfully position the Cobalt value proposition. The BDR will be an expert in our PtasS (Pentest as a Service) offering as you are most often the first impression our customers will receive. BDRs who establish high performance and embody our core values will have opportunities for career advancement within sales.
This role will require candidates to be located in either the PST or MST time zone as they will be working a West Coast territory.
What You'll Do
- High volume prospecting and lead qualification through outbound phone calls, emails and other channels
- Creative and personalized outbound prospecting within your target accounts
- Leveraging tools including SalesForce, SalesLoft, LinkedIn Sales Navigator and others to research and connect with potential customers
- Achieving and exceeding weekly/monthly metrics
- Gain business knowledge through researching potential pain points, decision making structures and every day business challenges of our target prospects
- This is an individual contributor role that reports to a Business Development Manager who values continuous improvement through weekly one-on-one’s as well as providing you with the autonomy to allow you to steer your own success

Purpose of the role

- Convert Marketing Qualified Leads (MQLs) to Sales Qualified Leads (SQLs): Collaborate closely with the Marketing Team to receive MQLs and effectively nurture them through personalized outreach, tailored messaging, and strategic follow-ups to schedule meetings with Business Development Managers.
- Generate Own SQLs: Proactively identify and pursue opportunities to generate SQLs independently through networking, industry events, targeted outreach, and cultivating relationships with strategic referral partners.
- Qualify Leads: Conduct thorough research and analysis to qualify leads based on predefined criteria, ensuring that scheduled meetings align with our target audience and business objectives.
- Maintain CRM Integrity: Ensure accurate and up-to-date information on all leads, interactions, and meetings within our customer.
- Relationship Management (CRM) system, providing valuable insights to inform future strategies.
- Collaborate with Business Development Team: Work closely with Business Development Managers to understand their priorities, target markets, and value propositions, aligning meeting generation efforts to support overarching sales goals.
- Continuous Improvement: Regularly analyze meeting generation metrics, identify areas for optimisation and improvement, and implement innovative strategies to enhance lead conversion rates and meeting quality.

Required Experience & Skills
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a similar role, with a track record of successfully generating high-quality meetings and driving sales pipeline growth.
- Familiarity with the Microsoft stack of products, ideally within a Cloud and ERP services environment as their solutions are mainly based around Microsoft products
- Understanding of the business software and IT infrastructure marketplace would be beneficial, and an IT Software sales background
- Strong Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling messages and effectively engage with prospects across various channels.
- Strategic Thinker: Ability to think strategically and identify opportunities for lead generation, leveraging market insights and industry trends to inform decision-making.
