An established organisation seeks a skilled Building Services Technician to manage both emergency repairs and scheduled maintenance, ensuring that premises and equipment remain in top condition and meet all safety standards. This hands-on role spans a wide range of tasks including electrical repairs, plumbing, carpentry, tiling, painting, and general upkeep, along with regular inspections and occasional call-outs. Suitable candidates should have a Matric and a National N Diploma in Electrical Engineering (N6), along with a trade test and 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar corporate or hospitality setting. An Electrical Installation Licence is a strong advantage. The successful applicant will be dependable, self-directed, and an effective communicator, capable of maintaining high service standards with attention to detail and a proactive mindset.

Working very closely with colleagues and clients, you will be accountable for interpreting the client brief and developing designs at all stages from scheme through to detail, construction monitoring, commissioning and close out. Acting freely to investigate solutions, you will explore options, work closely with external collaborators, and work in a team to develop and convey design solutions. Proven knowledge in building service design and in-depth knowledge of standards and best practice, including a varied portfolio of medium to large scale completed projects with knowledge across a range of project scales and types. Knowledgeable in preparation of design stage reports.
You will be an inquisitive and creative, solution-orientated yet collaborative, persuasive, and engaging individual who gives their all to ensure the client is happy and the solution both high-quality and practical. You will be accountable to a project director/manager for day-to-day delivery, and you will be provided with formal and informal support to develop your skills. You will liaise with other disciplines within the regional office and elsewhere within the company. You may be required to work away from your normal office from time to time and be willing and able to travel internationally to project sites.

- Active professional registration with a certified engineering body.

Duties & ResponsibilitiesJob Description:

- Identify and implement process improvements and cost-saving opportunities throughout project lifecycles.
- Facilitate regular project team meetings, offering expert guidance and support as required.
- Keep stakeholders abreast of project progress and any pertinent changes in milestones.
Skills & Experience:
- Minimum 10 years of experience in electronic engineering design.
- At least 5 years of experience must be post-registration and should be in planning and implementing electronic systems in production environments.
- Sound understanding of construction procedures, standards, and project management expertise.
Qualification:
- BSc, BEng, or BTech degree in Electronic Engineering.
- Registered with ECSA as a Professional Engineer.
Only South African Residents or individuals with a relevant South African work permit will be considered.

Along the way, you’ll discover exactly what you’re capable of as you study for a Level 6 Degree in Building Services Design Engineering, and forge a path to becoming a fully-qualified professional.
You will have opportunities to improve your CAD drawing skills.
You will learn how to use specialist building services design software e.g. IES and Amtech.
You will learn how to work with a multidisciplinary team to deliver the most ambitious projects worldwide.
