ADVERTISEMENT FOR CARPENTER AND BRICKLAYER JOB
TLNS Electrical and Railway Signalling (Pty) Ltd is seeking for qualified Carpenter and Bricklayer with passion and willing to grow within an organization. Applicants must reside around Germiston, East Rand Region or willing to relocate and ready for travelling. Experience Required
• At least 3-5 years’ experience in the construction of buildings after receiving Trade Test Certificate.
Qualification requirements
• ust Carpenter and Bricklayer Trade Test Certificate that has been issued by Department of Higher Education and Training or the Department of Labor. < r>
Duties and responsibilities
Carpenter:
• R ading and interpreting blueprints and building plans to meet client requirements. < r>• M asuring, cutting, and shaping wood, metal, and other materials using hand and power tools. < r>• C nstructing, installing, and repairing frameworks such as walls, floors, and doorframes. < r>• B ilding formwork and shuttering for concrete structures like columns, slabs, and beams. < r>• I stalling doors, windows, roofing trusses, and ceiling structures. < r>• E ecting scaffolding and ladders for elevated work. < r>• A sembling and disassembling temporary structures such as site sheds and access platforms. < r>• E suring joints and structures are secure and aligned. < r>• M intaining tools and equipment in good condition. < r>• A hering to safety standards and building regulations on-site < r>Bricklayer:
• R ading and understanding building plans and drawings. < r>• M xing mortar or cement to the right consistency for bricklaying. < r>• L ying bricks, blocks, and other masonry materials in straight rows, shapes, or patterns. < r>• M asuring and aligning structures using levels, plumb lines, and trowels. < r>• R pairing and maintaining brick structures such as walls, fireplaces, and facades. < r>• C tting bricks to size using hammers, chisels, or power tools. < r>• C nstructing arches, chimneys, and other decorative brickwork. < r>• A plying damp-proofing and insulation materials when required. < r>• C eaning and pointing brickwork (finishing joints with mortar). < r>• F llowing site safety rules and wearing appropriate PPE.
