Job Summary
The Head of ARO Treasury Financial Resource Management is responsible to ensure that ARO Treasury financial resources are effectively planned, allocated, and utilised across the ARO Entities, contributing to long-term financial stability and growth, reporting to the ARO Treasurer. The role enables sound financial decision-making, supports strategic initiatives, and works towards enhancing the Group’s overall financial performance and competitiveness. It requires strategic vision, in-depth expertise, and leadership to actively steer the Entity balance sheets to align with the Entity ALCO and Group strategic objectives.
The Key Focus Of This Role Is To
- Ensure optimal and efficient allocation and usage of scarce financial resources (capital, funding and leverage exposure) across ARO Treasury
- Facilitate the optimisation of value aligned performance measures (Return on Regulatory Capital (Group lens of entities) and Return on Equity ) based on the plans for the Entities and Treasury cluster.
Acc o u nt ab ili t y : Financial Resource Planning, Optimisation and Engagement
- Manage the production and reporting of ARO Entity and Treasury RoRC performance on a monthly basis, ensuring timely and accurate flash and final reporting to Entity ALCOs and MBRs.
- Explain monthly changes in RoRC performance, potential enhancement actions required and support ALCos with managing balance sheet, liquidity and capital optimisations required to improve performance, as required
- Monitor and explain changes in Entity and Group endowment allocations ensuring effective margin stability and PnL management in ARO Treasury, with alignment to TES investment management approach and returns
- Design embed and mature an effective FR allocation approach across Entity treasuries, based on resource scarcity and optimising of capital returns for the ARO Business and Group.
- Continuously evaluate the effective usage of capital by Entities in comparison with agreed targets and highlight opportunities where FR resources could be better deployed to achieve higher returns or mitigate risks more efficiently.
- Lead discussions with ARO Treasuries on additional financial resource demand and recommend efficient allocation of additional financial resources.
- Develop a detailed plan for effectively embedding Return on Risk-Adjusted Capital (RoRC) at both the Entity ALCOs. This involves partnering with ARO BUs and Risk to support effective financial resource management.
- Embed effective monitoring mechanisms to track the success of SARB RWA use and RoRC performance of Entities and ARO Treasury to budgets
- Drive the development and tracking of tactical plans and scorecard performance relating to SARB RWA use and Earnings growth across ARO Treasury and recommend enhancement actions where required.
- Design, develop and produce FR MI and document any required Business applications that support effective decision making and capital allocation within Entities, supporting ALCOs with re-allocation, increase requests or return of Group capital
- Establish an appropriate FR forecasting process to drive decisions.
- Ensure support and alignment with Group Financial Resource Management objectives and priorities, embedding in Entities via ALCOs and within ARO Treasury
- Orchestrate the necessary process to facilitate regular strategic alignment between Group, and finance and cascaded to the individual Entities and ARO Treasuries
- Provide robust and forward-looking FR allocation and returns performance strategic updates to ARO Treasury Committee covering Entity and ARO Treasury performance
- Support CIB FRM and ARO RBB FRM committees with ARO Entity and ARO Treasury updates as required
- Consider the explicit use of data and its inherent value to explore opportunities, plan and guide all decisions for execution.
- Ensure full alignment of metrics and financial resource positions with Compass and ARO and Group Finance reporting
- Use data to obtain a quantifiable economic benefit for the area of accountability, leveraging Internal or indirect capacity to make measurable business performance improvements and inform decisions accordingly.
- Provide effective fit for purpose tooling for FR management through deriving maximum value from a digital process or solution
- Deliberately seek opportunities to digitise, automate and implement solutions for customer primacy, innovation, and operational effectiveness.
- Influence the implementation of effective internal controls system and corporate governance under ARO Treasury accountability.
- Ensure compliance to all Group policies and Standards.
- Responsible for establishing and maintaining an appropriate governance framework to support the primary accountability for internal management reporting that supports effective decision making.

Requirements :

The University seeks to appoint an Associate Professor/Professor and Head of Department. The Head of Department appointment will be additional to the successful candidate’s academic appointment.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for but not limited to the following:
- The strategic, academic, and operational management of the department;
- Aligning the vision and objectives of the Department with the broader vision and objectives of the Faculty and the University;
- Promoting, planning, organising, and managing academic and research programmes and the department’s research profile;
- Ensuring quality scholarly academic and professional education and training;
- Managing all financial activities, including fundraising and externally funded projects;
- Playing an active role as an academic leader of the discipline at a national and international level;
- Recruiting and managing of the academic and professional staff of the Department and promoting their continuous development, with a focus on diversity;
- Providing and facilitating mentorship of young academics in the Department; and
- Developing and sustaining external partnerships.
Professor:
- A doctoral degree with specialisation in the field of Industrial Psychology or Human Resource Management;
- 9 years tertiary teaching experience on undergraduate and postgraduate levels;
- An established research focus and an independent research agenda with;
- At least 15 accredited publications and/or equivalent recognised scholarly outputs and at least 3 of the publications and/or equivalent recognised scholarly outputs should be in the last 5 years (accepted and/or published);
- Completion of at least 10 Master’s students since the last promotion; and
- At least 2 completed doctoral students with 1 as the main supervisor;
- Evidence of substantial engagement, leadership and external funding;
- Experience in high-level liaison with internal and external stakeholders and professional boards; and
- Evidence of a developing network of national and/or international research collaborations.
- A doctorate degree with specialisation in the field of Industrial Psychology;
- 6 years tertiary teaching experience on undergraduate and postgraduate levels;
- An established research focus with;
- At least 7 accredited publications and/or equivalent recognised scholarly outputs of which at least 3 accredited publications and/or equivalent recognised scholarly outputs should be in the last 5 years accepted and/or published;
- At least 4 completed Master’s students over the past 5 years;
- Evidence of consistent and continued supervision. Involvement with at least 2 doctoral students, 1 as the main supervisor;
- Evidence of research grants or awards; and
- Evidence of a developing network of national and/or international research collaborations.

Role: SNR Resource Manager

About the role:
OLIVER + is seeking a talented and versatile Senior Resource Manager to join our in-house studio.
Working with the Project Managers and Account Managers, the Resource Manager has strategic oversight of each market (Global and SN) and ensures the account is resourced efficiently.
Liaising with each market, the Resource Manager helps to assess capacity levels at key milestones before the projects land and works with the teams to provide resource solutions to support each project.
The Resource Manager will also manage a portal that gives accurate capacity information and is updated regularly for any and / or all of the various markets within their regions.
What You'll be Doing:
- Regularly meet with the dedicated Project, Account Managers and Account Directors from each market/channel to forecast incoming projects and build resource solutions to help capacity manage the regions
- Identify and resolve any potential resource conflicts and resolving/ or escalate to Production Leads/ Account Director prior to a crisis occurring.
- Help to provide solutions to bottle necked projects and how we can either (and not limited to):
- Share resource from other regions
- Stagger the start of projects
- Identify priority projects
- Look for opportunities of reusing assets,
- Works in close contact with the Resource Managers in other regions to ensure effective resource management, sharing resources across the globe where possible to support each other.
- Pull the weekly traffic report.
- Supply weekly reports pertaining to forecasted capacity and highlight any potential issues and / or lull’s in capacity.
- Ensure on a daily basis that the team is all busy and work is being evenly spread amongst the team.
- Share weekly and monthly utilisation reports to showcase efficiencies gained, highlighted areas to be investigated where necessary
- Builds strong and mutually beneficial relationships will all discipline leads
- Responsible for allocating and monitoring ‘Shared Talent Pool’
- Knowledge of the contractual core team, assisting predictions of resource requirements.
- Help manage and complete campaign reports assigned at a global level and populated with market-level data and insights.
- Understand and master the resource management tool in order to ensure the most accurate and relevant data is gathered
- Identify a network of direct/reliable short-term support staff in localised areas
- Understanding and ensuring client specific contract terms are adhered to.
- Successfully manages the teams' expectations on the delivery and capacity of the studio.
- Develop a deep understanding of the creative resources skills, work methodologies and establish a close working relationship
- Develop close working relationships with the other regional leads.
What You'll Need:
- Excellent organizational and communication skills, including attention to detail
- Comfortable booking and managing resource in studio settings with high-volume, fast-paced work
- The ability to multitask effectively and deal with constant requests and changes
- The understanding of agency and account processes
- Good negotiation and problem-solving skills
- Experience dealing with global teams and resources.
- Encourages others and demonstrates good leadership skills in cross-discipline, multi-level team

- 3+ years of relevant experience in an agency setting is ideal.

- Trafficking work through Creatives, Strategy and Designers (static and motion)
