Key Responsibilities :
Leadership
Provide strong leadership and direction for the daily operations of both bars, ensuring seamless service, quality beverage experiences, and a vibrant atmosphere for all guests.
Guest Experience Champion
Cultivate a welcoming and engaging environment. Resolve guest concerns promptly and professionally, while actively seeking feedback to enhance the guest experience.
Quality Control & Standards Excellence
Ensure all beverages, service standards, and bar hygiene meet brand expectations. Conduct staff training and maintain compliance with liquor licensing regulations.
Inventory Management & Cost Control
Develop and implement efficient inventory systems. Minimize waste, negotiate effectively with vendors, and maintain accurate stock levels.
Team Leadership & Development
Recruit, train, schedule, and motivate bartenders and barbacks. Conduct performance appraisals, ensure adherence to HR policies, and foster a collaborative and professional work environment.
Menu Development & Innovation
Work with bartenders and management to design creative, seasonal, and profitable beverage menus that align with guest preferences and trends.
Financial Performance
Monitor and analyse bar sales. Develop strategies to boost revenue, track expenses, and ensure profitability while meeting budget targets.
Marketing & Promotions
Collaborate with the marketing team to deliver engaging bar promotions and events, driving guest traffic and increasing sales.
Requirements :
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a supervisory role within a bar or hospitality environment
- Degree or diploma in hospitality management (or related field) advantageous
- Certification in wine and spirits is an asset
- Strong knowledge of bartending techniques, beverage creation, and responsible alcohol service
- Experience in stock control, cost management, and liquor regulations
- Proven ability to lead and develop a team
- Strong organisational, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Proficiency in MS Office, POS, and restaurant management software
- Must hold a valid South African ID
