Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Quality Engineer or in a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and quality assurance principles.
  • Knowledge in test automation tools and frameworks (advantage).
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and CI/CD processes.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and collaboration abilities.
Preferred Skills:
  • Certification in quality assurance or software testing (e.g., ISTQB).
  • Familiarity with testing mobile applications and web services.
Technical Skills:
  1. Conduct end-to-end testing of Core Banking systems, including various types of accounts (e.g., Savings, Transactional, Credit, Personal Loan) from onboarding to GL validations.
  2. Test bank's single facility accounts and associated scenarios to ensure system functionality and accuracy.
  3. Perform testing on the bank's lending products, such as Personal Loan, Credit Cards, and Overdraft, including validation of product features and pricing structures.
  4. Test Debicheck mandates and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  5. Validate statements and related scenarios to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  6. Test VAT, fees, and other financial transactions to ensure adherence to banking regulations and internal policies.
  7. Verify the bank's products and pricing structure to ensure consistency and competitiveness in the market.
  8. Conduct testing on the finance leg of credits and debits, including interest calculations and financial transactions processing.

  • Guiding and advising the Business on the most appropriate solution(s) to meet their needs and develop complete and accurate models.

  • Providing MIS support to satisfy existing reporting requirements and design new reporting structures where required. This includes the automation of regular reports.
  • Analysing and makes recommendations on data to inform and develop business strategy.
  • Data mining, data modelling, report creation and automation, end user education and training.
  • Supporting users through their UAT processes, including testing and documentation of the solution developed.

Educational and proficiency level:

  • Degree in Information Technology / Systems, Quantitative Analysis or similar
  • 4+ years of experience in data base programming, data modeling and design and development of large database
  • Strong SQL programming skills
  • Experience in database/SQL performance tuning of large – multi-terabytes database
  • Hands-on experience creating and maintaining conceptual, logical and physical data models,

POSITION INFO:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare monthly management accounts and financial statements
  • Handle VAT, PAYE, and other statutory submissions
  • Prepare and submit corporate income tax returns (ITR14)
  • Assist with tax planning and ensure compliance with current tax legislation
  • Maintain accurate general ledger accounts and perform reconciliations
  • Prepare audit packs and liaise with external Auditors during audits
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow reporting
  • Assist with SARS correspondence and tax queries
  • Ensure that all financial and tax records are maintained in compliance with the relevant regulations
  • Provide support on ad hoc finance and tax projects as needed

Requirements:

  • BCom Accounting or similar qualification (SAIPA/SAICA articles advantageous)
  • Minimum 3–5 years accounting experience with a strong focus on tax
  • Solid knowledge of South African tax laws and regulations
  • Experience preparing and submitting SARS tax returns
  • Proficient in accounting software (e.g., Xero, Sage, CaseWare, or similar)
