A well-established and reputable law firm located in Johannesburg Northern Suburbs (Parktown North).
Duties & ResponsibilitiesOur Client seeks a diligent and experienced Banking Law attorney to commence work urgently:
- The candidate must be able to manage a team of three support staff and must have experience with VAF recoveries.
- Knowledge and expertise in the National Credit Act, and legal recoveries court processes, especially court online and case lines for the JHB Court and Pretoria.
- Must have a great understanding and adherence to the Banks SLA requirements especially for SBSA.
- The candidate must be able to draft own papers in accordance with the Banks templates and have an eye for details.
Qualifications
LLB Degree. Admitted Attorney.
Skills
The candidate must have at least 3-6 years post admission and must have a strong knowledge of and experience in Banking Law and VAF Recoveries.

- Knowledge of financial crimes and sanctions prevention requirements and controls (AML/CFT, Sanctions, etc.)
- Experience or certification in compliance or risk management would be a desirable advantage.
- Familiarity with industry practices and professional standards
- Significant background in regulated payments and financial services, especially money transfer payment systems
- Knowledge of a regulated environment and associated risk.
- Self-motivated with a proven track record of delivering success while working within a team environment.
- Excellent written/oral communication skills for documentation, drafting reports and presentations.
