Duties & Responsibilities
Job Purpose :
To manage and maintain the automotive engineering stores ensuring efficient inventory control accurate record-keeping and timely supply of components and materials to support production and engineering operations.
Key Responsibilities :
Receive inspect and record deliveries of automotive parts tools and engineering components.
Organise and store items in designated locations ensuring proper labeling and safety.
Maintain accurate stock levels using manual and / or electronic inventory systems.
Issue parts and materials to production and workshop teams as required.
Perform regular stock takes and assist with audits and inventory reconciliation.
Monitor stock levels and raise purchase requisitions when required.
Ensure the store area is clean safe and compliant with health and safety regulations.
Coordinate with suppliers drivers and internal teams to ensure timely availability of materials.
Handle returns and warranties for faulty or damaged goods.
Support continuous improvement initiatives in stock management and store efficiency.
Key Skills & Competencies :
Strong knowledge of automotive components and engineering materials
Good organisational and time management skills
Basic computer literacy (experience with stock management systems is an advantage)
Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Physical stamina and the ability to lift / move parts and equipment safely
Forklift license (advantageous)
Qualifications & Experience :
Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent
2 years of experience in a similar storeman role preferably in the automotive or engineering industry
Knowledge of inventory systems and best warehouse practices
