Job Description

Industrial Automation Manager: The main scope for this position is to lead business development in collaboration with the National Business Development Manager, technical support, and training activities for automation and control components. The role combines sales expertise with deep technical knowledge to support customers, grow market share, and deliver value-added training across South Africa.

The key tasks & responsibilities for this position are to:

Sales & Business Development:

Drive sales of industrial automation components.
Identify new business opportunities and develop key accounts in various sectors (e.g., manufacturing, mining, utilities).
Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue and growth targets.
Build strong relationships with system integrators, OEMs, distributors, Panel builders, end-users and Consulting Engineers

Technical Training & Support:

Develop and deliver technical training programs for clients, partners, and internal teams.
Conduct hands-on product demonstrations, workshops, and webinars.
Provide pre-sales and after-sales technical support, including product selection, troubleshooting, and application advice.

Product & Market Expertise:

Stay current on industry trends, competitors, and emerging technologies.
Collaborate with product specialists and suppliers to ensure the team is up to date with the latest innovations.
Assist in product launches, road shows, and exhibitions.

Team Leadership & Collaboration:

Lead or support a team of sales engineers and application specialists (if applicable).
Work closely with marketing, logistics, and product management teams.
Support channel partners and distributors with training, sales tools, and technical support.


The key educational requirements and experience for this position would be:

A tertiary qualification preferably Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering
A Minimum 2-4 years of experience in industrial automation, with a strong sales or application engineering background.
Proven experience selling automation components.
Experience in delivering technical training or product workshops.
Must be professional, passionate and motivated
Strong sales acumen and ability to close deals
Deep technical understanding of industrial automation systems
Ability to translate complex technical content into clear training materials
Proficient with MS Office, CRM systems, and basic CAD or simulation tools
Valid drivers license and willingness to travel locally and regionally
