Job Title: Storeman – Automotive Truck Parts

Location: Pretoria West
Department: Stores / Parts Division
Reporting to: Parts Manager / Warehouse Supervisor
Position Type: Full-time
Salary: R20 -R25 CTC

Job Summary:

We are seeking a reliable and well-organized Storeman with experience in the automotive truck parts industry . The successful candidate will be responsible for receiving, storing, issuing, and managing truck parts and related stock efficiently and accurately. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of truck components and parts, attention to detail, and a strong understanding of inventory processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Receive and inspect incoming truck parts and materials.
• Ensure accurate labeling, binning, and storage of stock.
• Pick, pack, and dispatch parts for internal and external orders.
• Monitor and maintain optimal stock levels and report shortages or overstock.
• Conduct regular cycle counts and full stock takes.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the storeroom/warehouse.
• Process goods received and issued on inventory management systems.
• Assist with parts identification and ensure correct parts are supplied.
• Work closely with mechanics, sales, and procurement teams.
• Enforce health & safety and housekeeping standards in the warehouse.

Minimum Requirements:

• Grade 12 (Matric) – essential.
• 2–3 years of experience as a storeman in the truck or automotive parts sector.
• Good knowledge of truck parts, brands, and part identification.
• Experience working with inventory/warehouse systems (e.g. Pastel, Kerridge, SAP, etc.).
• Valid forklift license – advantageous.
• Ability to lift and move heavy items safely.
• Good numeracy and communication skills.

• Ability to multitask and prioritize duties in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.

Working Conditions:

• Physical work, including lifting and moving truck parts.
• May be required to work overtime or Saturdays during peak periods.

Minimum Requirements:

• 2-3 years' experience as a Parts Sales Executive within the Automotive Industry
• Dealership experience is a requirement
• Commercial Vehicle experience is a requirement (Mercedes-Benz Trucks, MAN Trucks and Bus, FAW Trucks, Volvo Trucks, TATA Trucks, UD Trucks, etc.)
• Experience working on systems such as Evolve will be an advantage
• Must have a valid Driver’s License
• Must have a stable track record

Our commercial vehicle dealer client Roodepoort currently holds a vacancy for a Parts Sales Executive.
Must have Commercial Vehicle experience and must have worked on Multicat and Evolve computer packages.
This position will be suited to an experienced person who has the ability to attract clients; provide excellent customer service and maintain high levels of sales on an ongoing basis.
The responsibilities of a Parts Sales Executive include the following tasks but are not limited to:
Administration – to ensure all paperwork, documentation, requisitions are properly recorded within sock control system.
To ensure that all credit sales are made to an authorised signatory of approved account.
To keep all parts catalogues, manufactures lists, etc. updated and tidy.
Communication – to ensure warehouse manager/ parts manager is kept aware of stock movement.
To notify warehouse manager/ parts manager of any difference noted when inspecting incoming goods.
To maintain good helpful relationships with all customers and their representatives.
Marketing – to assist if required in any marketing activity as required.
Finance – to ensure all transactions take place according to company policy.
To ensure security of all cash and cheques received.
To ensure that the highest level of CSI is achieved.
To conduct all transactions with customers with the utmost courtesy.
To ensure the accurate identification of the customer needs.
To receive & identify stock when delivered from the supplier.
Qualifications and Experience
Minimum Qualifications and Experience needed:
Matric
3+ Years’ Experience as a Parts Sales Executive
Commercial vehicle (Parts) experience
Skills and Personal Attributes
Minimum requirement:
Valid driver’s license
Computer literate
Good communication skills
Strong Parts Retail experience
Excel & Word knowledge advantageous
