Who We Are Looking For

Crisis24's Crisis Security Consulting (CSC) team is looking for an Associate Consultant to join an ever-growing team to support wider project deliverables. The successful candidate will be based in our Cape Town offices, but with likely regular travel overseas to support on response and consulting tasks. Therefore, a candidate with geopolitical knowledge and interest, language abilities and a willingness and adaptability to support bespoke, international projects is sought after. The position further requires education to a master's (MA) level in a sector-relevant subject matter, 1-2 years of relevant work experience and language abilities.

What You Will Work On

The successful candidate will quickly be involved in tasks and projects supporting the wider Crisis Security Consulting department. No two days are the same, and the Associate Consultant will work on bespoke reporting and threat assessments across geographies and threat types, analysing data and presenting it to clients, supporting operations on the ground during domestic and international deployments and editing and proofing the work of your peers. The candidate will also need to support out-of-hours tasks when required, as part of a wider team "on-call" rotation system (a week of "on call" every 8-10 weeks approximate). The Associate Consultant will quickly become adept at multiple types of task delivery, which will support in their professional development within Crisis24.

Who You Will Work With

The successful candidate will work within the wider Associate Consultant team, supporting international consulting across the Americas, Europe, Middle East & Africa, and Asia Pacific, as well as our Special Risks, All Hazards, and Product Risks response team. As well as the Crisis and Security Consulting department, the Associate Consultant will often work across and collaborate with the wider Crisis24 group and GardaWorld partners.

What You Will Bring

  • International Relations/Security Studies (or similar) at a master's level qualification (post will also accept Honors level qualification)
  • 1-2 years relevant industry-specific experience alternative to master's level education
  • Experience working in a variety of environments is required to adapt to demonstrate adaptability
  • An adaptable and flexible approach to working is required – the role will involve overseas deployments for extended periods of time, including potentially high-risk and conflict-affected areas

What will you do?

You will be responsible for providing excellent client services to a portfolio of clients of SIMEKA HEALTH by efficiently managing human capital queries, provide advice when required, claims and queries and all other medical scheme, gap cover, primary health insurance, loyalty related queries. This role will be based in Sandton, Johannesburg.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide an effective and efficient administrative channel between clients and service providers
  • Must demonstrate a good understanding of all medical scheme options and benefits, primary care insurance, gap cover and loyalty programs
  • Must provide, multiple query resolutions, ability to communicate in both written and a verbal professional manner
  • Manage escalated admin and other requirements from service providers for clients
  • Assists the Centralised Service Centre with in-bound and out-bound client calls
  • Provide timeous feedback and resolution
  • Keep ongoing records on internal CRM systems
  • Assist clients with the application process, requirements and queries telephonically and/or via e-mail up to resolution.

    Frequent follow up with clients
  • Assisting with new and existing quotes and advice where required

Qualification and Experience

  • Matric
  • Industry related Degree or Diploma (NQF level 5) is required
  • Regulatory Examination RE5 is required
  • 2 - 3 years' experience in a similar healthcare environment is required
  • Full accreditation with the Council for Medical Schemes is advantageous
  • Financial services industry experience would be advantageous

Knowledge and Skills

  • Knowledge of industry regulations e.g., POPI and TCF
  • Experience in managing customer relationships
  • Experience in handling customer complaints
  • Strong knowledge of medical scheme product and processes
  • Strong knowledge of Internal and external processes including service level commitments
  • Knowledge of relevant escalation channels
  • Knowledge in managing and co-ordinating escalations from HR and other stakeholders
  • Experience in managing customer relationships
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Brokertools experience advantageous
  • Proficient in both English and Afrikaans (verbal and written)
