. This opportunity offers close mentorship under a seasoned Principal Attorney with deep general litigation, labour and employment law, procurement and public law and personal injury law expertise.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
You will assist across a wide range of general litigation, labour and employment, procurement and public law and personal injury law, working directly with clients and the Principal Attorney to deliver professional, solutions-focused advice. Key responsibilities include:
- Drafting of all legal documents including but not limited to pleadings, contracts/agreements, notices and various correspondence applicable to particular practice areas
- Have the ability to make a determination of facts
- Drafting opinions to clients
- Providing general verbal or written advice to clients, including strategies for litigation and as such a fair understanding of the general litigation process is essential, including from summons to trial stage in action proceedings and from Notice of Motion to argument stage in motion proceedings
- Conducting research on case law, statutes and regulations and drafting memos to clients and/or your principals on the outcome of the research
- Attendances at Court and other associated forums, including arguing of matters, engaging with Court personnel and various administrative tasks associated with litigation
- Coordinating with clients and other external parties on legal matters
- Assisting with administrative and in-house legal duties
- Participate in the Firm's activities and must have the potential to make a contribution to the Firm's non-practice related activities
DESIRED EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATION
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications:
- Completed LLB (excellent academic performance is essential)
- Admitted Attorney in South Africa with Right of Appearance in the High Cour
- Member of the Legal Practice Council (LPC)
- Completed PLT (advantageous)
Experience:
- 3 years post-admission experience
- Proven experience in managing client matters independently
- Proven exposure to general litigation, including in High Court and Magistrates Court litigation
- Proven exposure to labour and employment law, procurement and public law and personal injury law (advantageous)
- Exposure to AJS or similar accounting programmes (advantageous)
Skills and Attributes:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
