Job Description
Inkwareny Artists - Studio Coordinator (Ceramics)
About Us
Inkwareny Artists is the Anmatyerr people of Yuelamu’s new art centre and gallery. Situated in the small Anmatyerr community of Yuelamu 300 km north-west of Mparntwe/Alice Springs. We formed in October 2023. Our goal is that through art, Anmatyerr culture is strong. Inkwareny Artists is conceived by us, seed funded by us, led and operated by us with 100% of monies going back to community, directly to artists and to operate our social enterprise. Inkwareny means honey ant in Anmatyerr. We are descendants of a strong painting tradition including the original dot painters from Papunya such as our ancestor Clifford Possum. We have a strong history of ceramics and have local clay. We are bush people, knowledgeable of our country, earth, plants, insects and animals. We are informed by lifetimes of living in country and driven by our Anengkerr (Anmatyerr word for dreaming). Our language and Anengkerr stories are strong. We are storytellers and story painters. We will have a wonderful new physical gallery that shows our work when building renovations are completed in late 2026.
About the Role
Reporting to the Manager, the Studio Coordinator will work closely with artists and art workers to manage the day-to-day studio operations of the art centre. Responsibilities include maintaining studio equipment and art supplies (including kiln operations), managing a busy production schedule and facilitating the delivery of a high standard exhibition program. The role will also facilitate the development and implementation of projects including hunting and bush trips. The role will require travel for art fairs, exhibitions and other relevant events. This is a unique opportunity for a skilled ceramicist or creative who would like to experience life in a remote community and join us in our forming stage through exploring different art forms (painting, wood, ceramics and textiles) that develop our artistic niche. You will need to be highly motivated, have both project management and ceramic/practical skills. You must have well developed listening and communication skills and be able to work effectively in a busy and distracting environment. Respect and understanding of cross-cultural environments and the ability to work with First Nations artists safely and respectfully is essential. Knowledge of contemporary Aboriginal art and business is also desirable.

Terms
This position is offered full time ($75,000–$85,000 pa, plus superannuation); however, block employment arrangements (e.g., three months on site, one month off) are possible. This would suit a practicing artist who wants to maintain their own studio practice. We are looking for people who aspire to an ongoing relationship with our community. You will work onsite in the Yuelamu community. Fully furnished accommodation with utilities is provided. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People are strongly encouraged to apply.

Job Description
The President Hotel in Cape Town is busy curating a collective of artists working in digital media —this includes print artists, digital illustrators, photographers, and similar mediums to use in the hotel and exhibit to sell to their guests. The key requirement is that the artists are either based in Cape Town or create work that reflects a Cape Town perspective.
They are looking for approximately 20 to 30 artists who would be interested in participating.
The hotel will exhibit the selected artworks, cover the cost of framing, and feature the artists on their website platform, allowing them to sell their work directly. Importantly, the President Hotel will not take any commission from the sales—this initiative is purely to support local artists and give guests a local connection to local artists.
Join a network of visual arts practitioners, businesses and organisations committed to the development of our sector. #J-18808-LjbffrOpen call for digital artists: the president hotel
