The following opportunity is available: HIGH SCHOOL AND MIDDLE SCHOOL ART TEACHER FOR 2026.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver creative and inspiring Art and Design lessons.
- Foster a stimulating and inclusive classroom environment.
- Teach across various media and techniques, including drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, and digital art.
- Encourage students to experiment, take creative risks, and develop critical thinking skills.
- Prepare students for assessments, exhibitions, and competitions.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and achievements.
- Contribute to whole-school arts initiatives and extra-curricular activities.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Relevant teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, BEd) and SACE registration (or eligibility).
- Degree in Art, Design, or a related field.
- Able to teach either Afrikaans or English.
- Proven experience teaching Art and Design at (primary/secondary) level.
- Strong knowledge of art history, design principles, and contemporary art practices.
- Ability to use and teach both traditional and digital media.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and classroom management skills.
- Passion for inspiring creativity and artistic expression.
